SKYRIM!!!!!

Just got Skyrim for Christmas, woot woot! Feels pretty simplified comapared to the only other Elder Scrolls game I've ever played, Morrowind (I was genuinely shocked to find that you never had to repair your weapons) but still a very cool game. Running through the Companions quests right now, and thoroughly enjoying doing so, and trying to save up to buy a house.

Cracked up first time I heard a guard say he took an arrow to the knee.

Two things:

1) You don't need repair hammers (thank god!)

2) The hotkey works differently. In my opinion, not as well.

3) Leveling up is a bit different. It's simpler, but the perks make it interesting.

I LOVED Oblivion. Loved it. So far, I would say Skyrim has been about the same. I have felt bored a little more often on some quests, and I've gotten way off track (of the main story) by the sheer number of side quests that get thrown at you. Not a bad thing, IMO.

My character is called Anundr, it is an old Norse name that means something along the lines of successor of ancestors. I like to play the game very realistically and imagine my own back story. To me, he is a descendant of my hero of Morrowind, Bloodmoon and Tribunal, Halmar Mighty-Fist, hence the name. He's primarily a two handed axe wielding scary SOB, but I also use the occasional one handed axe and magic, or a bow in the right circumstances.

I think I might be burned out on this game. It seems to repetitive. Enter dungeon, kill people, take item, deliver item.

Games like these are what you make of it, really. I had the same grinding feeling with Oblivion, but not as much (but still some) with Skyrim. How many hours have you logged?

Just completed the Dark Brotherhood quest (preferred it to Companions and Thieves Guild). Not sure what to do next - Mage's Guild or Civil War quests.

Unless you're playing a mage build the Mage's Guild quest isn't really worth it, IMO.

That's kinda what I'm experiencing. I'm not playing as a mage, but it's still interesting so far. The Thieves Guild storyline was pretty sweet, more involved than I thought it would be.

The Civil War story is decent so far, a little boring where I'm at with it. I believe I'm at least halfway through it, hopefully it picks up a little more.
