Firstly, I love that you state "We're not all trying to play the same music".
Second, thank you for introducing me to an artist I'd not heard of. He has a quite unique Wootenesqe style which I very much enjoy.
I don't know if he's the bassist in the audio I posted, but either way your reply is appreciated !

True story: My old college roommate worked at the recording studio that did the audio post for that Chrysler Corrdoba commercial in the very early 80s. They had Ricardo Montalban's voiceover sampled & mapped across an early E-Mu Emulator I keyboard so they could get the timing to match the 30-second requirement just by going up or down half-steps with each sentence. My roommate brought home a ridiculous tune he cobbled together after hours that consisted of a Parker-esque be-bop head orchestrated in "Fine Corinthian leather!"

Well, since it isn't you I can honestly say while it sounds kinda good, it's a bit sloppy so I don't think it's a pro player that I'm aware of. I could be wrong though.

I only rediscovered it after going through some old hard-drives from 10+ years ago. Back then I'd only started playing and was very impressed. I'd still like to be able to play that quickly, but atleast now can identify the sloppiness.

As a reformed slapper (Slappers' anonymous?) lol.. I understand that it requires some skill level to play like that- It sounds like nearly EVERY You Tube demo for a bass, amp, effects. strings, pickups, or ANY other bass related product. It's just as tired as tired could possibly be Thankfully, no bippity-boppity-triple slap crap, but the over done-ness and all the bass cliche's.. the harmonics at the end... Me no likey.
