Sludge/Doom Effects

But I want it to go through the high end and effect those too. (now I'm being picky)

But I do know what you mean about the polyphase. I've actually been looking at it for a while. Do you know what the expression pedal does?

from the manual

ehx said:
EXPRESSION PEDAL/EXP MODE – In EXP mode the phase shifter circuit is controlled by an expression pedal or control voltage. In this mode, the GAIN and RATE knobs are inactive. The START and STOP knobs will determine the range of modulation. The ‘toe-up’ position of the expression pedal corresponds to the setting of the START knob. The ‘toe-down’ position corresponds to the setting of the STOP knob. As you move the expression pedal from ‘toe-up’ to ‘toe-down’ the phase shifter will move from the START to STOP settings.

i mostly use it in envelope mode but expression mode is rad.

i posted some clips of the stereo polyphase a month or so ago for anybody who is curious (eleven clips are of the polyphase, the only one to skip is "mystery fuzz")

BAW! I WANT DELAY AND PHASER!!!!

Too much? What does that mean?
It just started sounding a little too chaotic (for lack of a better term) when I used modulation effects with the g****rs. I stick to dirt now with wah every now and then. Jammin with others though I use modulation, just not with my band.

on a tangent: check out ISIS's cover of Hand Of Doom. Really cool effect on the vocals, in my opinion.
And +1 to this.
However I am trying to decide what I think of the new ISIS.

Not to derail, but are you talking about the new 311 record? Because Aaron sounds like Nick Hexum when he sings now...

I've really steered away from modulation (and that may change again) and I have been using delay VERY minimally...It's been just fuzz and either the HOG or BMS for me!

i want to tell you that your board is pretty sick

:bassist:
Why thank ya!

Apparently great minds think alike cause not only do I hate the new Isis vocals, but my effects are dwindling to fuzz and wah (with some bassballs).
And to think, I was looking forward to the new Isis :scowl:

You'll hate me but I like his singing better on this record...

I don't know if I'm bored w/ effects or just shaping my personal sound better, but I feel like I can get more accomplished and stick out more by just playing better and using tonal changes to my muff, hog, and bms...
I could never see myself not using effects with heavy music.
