I live a very quiet, modest lifestyle. So "big city" living and I would not hit it off one bit. Fact is, I live about an hour outside of Detroit and the last time I was there was in '96! I just have no desire to go there because it's simply not my thing. Even if Detroit was the safest city on the planet I still wouldn't go.
I live in an area where there's a lot of lakes, the houses are on the smaller side and there's lots of trees. It's subdivided but there's a good amount of "open-ness" in between the subdivided area's....but it's not what I would call out in the sticks. It's clean, neat and yet there's a "come as you are" vibe in this area. But yet I'm only a few minutes away from civilization.
I wouldn't trade where I am for anything.
