So how many wall warts do YOU still have?

I’m so guilty of this…I have only one box full of wall warts but I have no idea what device each of them were originally for. Wondering why I bothered to save them, unless they are Roland ACA compatible, it’s unlikely I'll have a need for them again.

There must be something wrong with me... I have just the one wall wart I bought maybe 15-20 years ago; a Godlyke Power-All. And it still sees use on stage and in-studio, even now.

I went through every one of my wall warts a while back, matched them up with the devices they go with and then labelled each with a label maker my wife had bought for her spice containers. Very satisfying!

I still have a few for my 24V Broughton pedals in use but otherwise it is power supply nowadays.

Although I still have a bunch in the drawer just in case or if I feel like just bringing a couple of pedals out instead my whole pedalboard. I recently lent a handful of pedals to a coworker and it was nice to also be able to give him all the power he needed as well.

For pedals? Just a single One spot that I got to power the odd pedal at my desk but sometimes powers a little board with a daisychain. Been using power supplies mounted to my board for the rest.

Have a few different ones around for non musical items, but lots of USB adapters all over the house.

I have a box of miscellaneous wall warts and some are labelled for specific pedals like the one for a Mothership 2. I try to use just a 1Spot but some pedals need a specific or separate supply to cut down on noise. FI and some EHX pedals for some reason really do not like to be daisy chained

Just musical ones or do general electronics count too? I'm an IT guy by trade, so my wall warts for "Networking Equipment" takes up an entire box...

I just took my box to the recycle place. I don’t think they’ll be recycled, either.

This is me... Ive got a cabinet full of wall warts, cables, rca jacks, etc.
When I need one,.. I play Where's Waldo till I find it.

The only important ones are 9V high amperage and the 12V current hog Two Notes Le Bass wall wart, just because I have to move it sometimes, but pretty rarely. Still... a couple dozen in plastic tubs in a closet. What am I gonna do? Sell them? Throw them away?

I have every wall wart imaginable, except the one i need at the moment

I have a dozen AC> AC wall warts that I’m recycling in about an hour, along with an old 6 track multitrack cassette recorder.

I get why wall warts are hated. But I also get why they can be awesome. From the standpoint of music gear, they remove a source of electrical noise from the chassis of the thing they are powering.

I only bought one and that was quite recently for general handheld device charging purposes here. I bought it because the wireless charging pad I bought didn't come with one...
Beyond that, all the ones I own came with pedals or the devices that need them. I guess I don't technically need the ones I have for my pedals, as I'm using universal power supplies of course, but I guess if I ever wanna give a pedal away, or sell one, I can give them the pedal, the box, the manual, and the wall wart. That should be worth something.

I have a bag of them here. Not a whole lot, but I realized I couldn't really tell what some of them were for. So I did some digging, figured out what they were all originally for, and then labeled them. Put a piece of white tape on them with the name of the pedal they came with and the voltage, current and polarity!

The real reason wall warts became common is that in smaller devices, an AC power supply takes up room. The wall wart also saves the manufacturer a lot of money. You can sell the same device all over the world, just toss in the proper wall wart for the country. There’s no need to pay for electrical certification of anything but the wall wart itself. Better yet, just buy one from a third party supplier already certified. If you use the same one across all your products (think Boss ACA-120) then that saves a lot of money.

There was a time when pedals that needed more power than a 9V battery could provide did have AC supplies. I've owned a few…the original EH Bass MIcro Synthesizer, MuTron Phasor II, DOD Analog Delay.

I learned years ago to label every wall wart I have and when a new one comes in it gets labelled before I even use it. If I don't do this I will go crazy trying to find stupid wall wart goes what goes with what. Why don't come already labeled?

I power my pedals with one multi except the old EH and rat that use mini Jack connectors.

My old non pedal stuff in my electronic music rig (Alesis sequencer and drum machine, cheapo ART reverb)use AC adapters and if you use the wrong one they dump their memory…

I got one of those little label printers and lots of stock from the free pile at work so I label all those…

Of course they all orient the wrong way for whichever power strip is near. How do they know?!

Bass-related? Just two, and both are in daily use. One is for the MXR power supply for my pedalboard, and the other is for my MarkBass “Compressore” compressor, which needs 12V at 600 mA so it can’t use the MXR.
