so i narrowed down my bass search to two... help!

I'd go with the geddy lee. A lot of people on this forum have this model and enjoys it a lot. And I mean a LOT. It growls a lot and has a vintage vibe to it. But the H1 model is also very good. They're now upgraded with Badass II bridge (same as on the geddy lee signature). But I say best thing to do is to try both and then decide.

Geddy Lee - maple fingerboard makes all the difference in the world in terms of tone possibilities! And count your blessings - there will come a day that NO ONE will help you pay for a bass, and even your family will criticize you for having too many instruments.

uh thanks for the advice.

but as for the criticism, i do have a job and everything, but my parents are at a lack of what to get me for christmas, so they offered to pay for like 200 bucks.

I don't think he was criticizing you, just saying, enjoy it while it's there!

Frankly, I'm not a fan of the Geddy's super-thin neck. Make sure you play one first, your hand may be too big for it, and that leads to cramping, etc. :bassist:

well i was actually at a sam ash store today playing some of the jazz basses, and i played a geddy lee for all of ten seconds before the guy there took it away to fiddle with that metal rod in the center if the neck.

i didn't really notice anything about the neck, other than that it was really smooth... is it that much of a difference than a regular jazz bass? does it feel like the neck on a regular guitar or something?
