Thanks! I really do love the tone, nothing wrong there. I did a coffee house gig last Monday and it sounded great through the PA. About the pickups, I am only considering Nordstrands and Lollars, but not for awhile.

Thanks, I'm saving up for a Little Mark II because it seems to be the cheapest head out there that still has good tone. Ideally I would buy a DB 750 or M-Pulse 600 or Walkabout based on my tonal preferences, but I don't have that kind of cash. I might end up getting Avatar cabs based on the sheer bang-for-the-buck factor, but I would like Aguilar/Mesa Boogie/Eden/Bergantino/Orange/Schroeder/Epifani better.

I really can't see why #1 is winning. They just sound way to bright to my ears. #2 is for sure the funkiest and will yeild the best recording tone, despite what some others may say. #3 isn't too bad at all, also good for recording.

Yes, I like 1's tone the best as a solo track. In a band the flats will absolutely slam and anchor the groove.

I'm all about getting noticed too... I just do it with nasty tube driven flats.

#1 is best for for brightness, and I have a Squier 60s Classic Vibe Jazz that sounds just like #1. Overall, though, I prefer #3 for overall tone. Reminds me of the tone I used to get (and want to get again) with broken-in ground wounds!

Seriously.. this is somewhat pointless because the line your playing influences the vote..

I'm in NO doubt that nr 1 is the best sounding tone for that bassline..

But i see uses for all 3 tones in different styles of music and such...

i voted 1 because it went best with the bassline.. nothing more..

Solo 1 sounds best. In a mix I could see 2 sounding great, depending on the song and what/who you are playing with. 3 sounds off somehow, not sure how to describe it. Maybe it's just old strings?

That may be because the Fender has the newest strings on it. Thanks, the SX certainly sounds great in the mix, but can lack clarity at times.

Yup, it's Be Yourself. It's easy to play, and worked for soundclips.

Again, that's because of the new strings. I don't like a bright tone, actually I like a vintage-esque tone. But just recorded direct, it may sound bright without a band behind it.
