That's what happened to me....if that can make you feel better 1380504889609.jpg

It is a lack of respect, but I wouldn't be confrontational. After all, if he is a douche he won't care.

But then, no one plays my equipment. Our guitar player asked to play it once, I refused. Awkward moment. But we moved on. I am too poor to take chances. :o

After our gig last night I let my guitarist play my bass with a girl we know who is in another band. It was her party/tailgate at her sisters house. So I was watching the game not really paying attention. This morning I unpack everything and I noticed this burn mark. I'm not mad, honestly it's ok. I am however mad at the lack of care and attention with my gear. So I'm trying to figure out how I feel about this. Would you be pissed?

Hell yeah, I'd be pissed! I was taught that anything I borrowed was returned in at least the same condition as when I got it, or better. That's BS! Tie his hands behind his back and put a lit cigarette behind his ear until it burns out- that would be fair.

I loaned an acoustic guitar to someone and when I got it back, it had a few dings, it was filthy and the strings were disgusting because his hands have some kind of gunge oozing out of them that turns stainless to crap in minutes.

I no longer loan much of ANYTHING, to ANYONE. It's not worth being pissed off because of someone else's stupidity and carelessness.

Some people treat borrowed or rented gear better than their own (assuming they take special care of their own gear), and others treat it like there's no tomorrow. Anyone that loans tools, or music gear will suffer a similar ding/scratch/burn, eventually. Sad, but true.
