So very hard to look at :-)

Same boat. Waiting for an 80s MIJ P-Bass to arrive. The wait is too long! :(

why does "by the end of day" ALWAYS mean around 6pm. Has anyone ever got the item first thing in the morning? I work from home on Fridays, so really it's not big deal, but still.... hehe

UPS usually does commercial packages earlier in the day, residential deliveries are first on, last off.

Luckily my home is listed as a business address in their database because of a "home office" situation.. so UPS makes it there before 1pm.

FedEx don't care. They'll get there when they get there.

At least now you know when it's coming in advance. I'd hate to go back to the days before online tracking, when you might have a general idea what day something was coming, and you'd peer out the window and see the UPS truck coming and think it's going to stop, it's going to stop...and it would blast right by. And then do the same thing the next day.

My most recent acquisition (which arrived just a couple of weeks ago), which was built in and shipped from Alton Bay NH, I asked to have sent to my work place since I was going to be away from home on business travel and wouldn't have been able to sign for it. The advantage was that on business travel I stay pretty busy and can't always keep checking the delivery tracker -- i.e., I'm more distracted than when home -- and the receiving guys at work emailed me once they had received it and dropped it in my office. Somehow this made the waiting process more bearable. (And made my return to the home office much more exciting!)

Awaiting delivery of a Lakland Skyline 44-02 here. Fedex takes deliveries directly to my apartments leasing office so I have to watch for delivery confirmation. If I'm not down there to pick it up before they close its trapped in their office until Monday.

That's a super clean looking 73' congratulations!

not delivered yet though.

What's worse is when you know it's coming but you have to leave the house to pick the kids up or do an errant. Those minutes away from the house when you know the delivery person could be coming are excruciating.

My Pedal Steel was supposed to arrive on Saturday but FedEx came and went came while I was out at brunch. Then, because it was a home delivery I didn't get it til tuesday afternoon!!!

That what you get for "having Brunch". C'mon man. Brunch, really? jkjk Glad you finally got your package. :D

We get courier deliveries at work twice a day.
When our local company was on contract to Fedex and UPS they'd always deliver the residentials in the PM.
Often the driver would ask us where addresses were, and if they were far out in the county or hard to get to, that parcel wasn't going to be delivered that day.
It's often best to get them delivered to your place of work if possible.

This was the one that was for sale here on TB, right? I saw that one, it was around for a month or more.... I thought about it... didn't have $2100 to do it given that I'd spent a lot of scratch lately on other gear. What a beautiful bass, and one that will hold and increase in value.... congratulations! Only a few more hours.... as for me I hate seeing deals that were good, that I didn't take... I was gonna buy a digital baby grand piano for the house for $1200.... usually they cost $3-4k.... same problem, no cash. I lament them both!
