The first bass I ever ordered onlineI watched the tracker every day until it arrived and was delivered in Alabama.That way madness lies IMO.
I never look at the tracker other than to see if my order shipped, and then again on the day it's expected to arrive, so that I can be sure I'll be around to sign for it.
The only problem was it should have been delivered to Ireland.
Still, I watched it every day as the frantic phone calls I made were ignored and it proceeded all the way to delivery, to the wrong address. A "clerical error", they said.
I still haven't forgiven Music 123 for that one.
Now I watch the tracker every time.
It's a 76 Precision neck with Schaller tuners. The body arrived a day earlier and is a MIJ 70s RI.
Who's with me ?
Am i the only who is wondering why does the ship date say 10/30/2015????

This reminds me of a SUV I saw dragging something behind it the other night. They were in the city limits too, so I'm not sure how they managed to not get pulled over by the police.
Whatever it was looked like some kind of hedge brush or something, & it went along the entire back end of the vehicle.
I just bought a Rickenbacker that's the same age as my daughter, so it will be hard to forget what year it is.
That will be a long wait too, as it's coming from the West coast & I'm on the East coast.

i will NEVER ship (or allow to be shipped) a bass guitar or other fragile item with them EVER again (i hope yours gets there ok) 2 occasions now got damaged goods and they denied the claims ? whaa....?
It is useless to insure anything with USPS. I've filed 2 claims over the years for high dollar items and never had anything come of it. 
Plus, in general, their services have dropped signifigantly, while their prices go up. 
I don't know how they stay in "business"… Anything worth the $ should be shipped by DHL or Fed Ex or even UPS.

I would like a "birth year" Fender one day. I've already planted the seed that I'd like such a gift as a 50th bday present (still a few years away, thanks). However, I think since I was conceived in one year and born in the next, I'm going to keep the selection criteria a bit broader to include either a "conception year" bass or a "birth year" bass.
We'll see what happens...
Nuts! I'm too old. Fender wasn't selling basses when I was born in 1950. Prototype was made in 1950, but the first Precision Bass was 1951...I feel soooooo old now.
I don't think the problem is with the post office but with the seller. It's an eBay transaction and I've had been getting the "shady" vibe from the start. There's not a whole lot of $ involved and it's for a bass that has a "broken truss rod nut." If it doesn't pan out, it will probably be a blessing in disguise. I'm sure I'll get my money back if things go off the rails.
