i have an ampeg rig and a markbass rig. i couldnt imagine playing any other setups.

no hype, these companies make great stuff.

I hear those not converted by accolades and TB peer pressure are being forced at gunpoint to purchase MB products, or replaced by Pod People in the still of night when visions of sheep hurdling fences permeate the ethers.

They haven't got me yet. Strong French Press and a good perimeter watch. But given the package and price MB certainly has certainly shown up on my map of significant forces.

Anyway. Read the countless pages about the EXACT same topic on TB. But form your own opinion. Both of those amps are good in their own way. And there are plenty of other good ones out there as well.

doomed to have Jazz Basses and Mark Bass rigs?

I don't like jazz basses all that much, and the MB tone certainly isn't for me... so no.

Each to their own, there is a reason so many people like these amps, they sound very transparent to my ear and are loud and light.

I personally think everyone should play a ric through a db-750....
