so who makes a decent unloaded cab

who makes a decent cab that doesnt cost an arm and leg that i can load my own 15 in i see alot of 410 and 210s unloaded cabs something that would let my fane breath and do its job. i look at avatar i did not see a 15 also look at earcandy and they were to much money. iam using a swr 700 workingpro and a aguilar gs 210:help:

Cabs need to be designed around a specific driver, or the results may suck. Your best bet would be to send the Fane to somebody who can interpret the published specs of that speaker and build an appropriate cab for it. LDS might be a good choice.

There are lots of places that will sell you an unloaded cab in any configuration you like, but there's a big risk that you'd have wasted your money when the resulting speaker cab combination sounds weak or poor.

It doesn't work that way. Both the cabinet net volume and the tuning frequency are driver dependent. Some drivers will work OK in a small box, some must have a large box. That fact tends to be ignored by most manufacturers. Why? Frankly, because average consumers doesn't know any better, and only concern themselves with having as many drivers and as high a power rating as possible in the minimum size box they can be squeezed into. Since that's what most players want to buy that's what's offered to them.

For a good result the OP is going to have to get the complete set of driver specs. Said specs will also reveal whether the driver is worth building a box for. Not all are.

Bill is right (as usual when it comes to speaker design). You need to design the box to the driver's Thiel/Small specs. At a minimum, you will need the Qts, Fs and Vas specs. Having Xmax would be nice too. There are applications on the internet to help you with dimensions, but a very simple formula (for a sealed box) is: (Qts^2.87) x 15 x (Vas). This will yield internal volume in the same units as Vas (usually ft^3).

i went to fane they were no help since this speaker hasnt been made for along time. i love the speaker when i had it in a carvin br615 combo which made that amp sound alot better.but i may have to go with another 15 i hope not but maybe. but i do thank you all.

How about a used Behringer cab? I like them as-is, but a lot of haters say that they really like the Behringer cabs after they've swapped the drivers. And you can get used Behringer cabs for very little money. They're heavy as heck though, but if the enclose would satisfy your Fane, it'd be an inexpensive way to go.

If you liked the sound of the Carvin combo amp with the Fane speaker, perhaps you could just copy the dimesnions of the Carvin (be they correct or not) as that is a known, good sound for you.
