so you are the last human on earth

So many people would rather die when left alone on this Planet rather than try and figure out why they were the only one to survive? Strange...

Why would it matter? There wouldn't be anything you could do with that knowledge. If anything, it might make things worse since you'd have made a huge revelation and couldn't tell anybody what it is!

It would drive me mad!

It would drive me mad!

It would matter a whole heck of a lot to me. The world is my holy book laid out before me to better understand the Universe. It provides me with the answers to everything, if only I know where to look. Id spend my time wandering and studying everything before me. Who needs someone to tell it to when you know it for yourself? Life is always worth living so long as you have a life to live. Imagine all the time you'd have to refine your soul! Id imagine that whoever was left behind similarly on our last planet would rejoin us on this one with the most Divine answers...

Confessing something, a few years back I was kinda disappointed by people (due to immaturity, due to crappy experiences in my youth), and I kinda hoped humanity would become extinct. In such a scenario, I often wondered what would happen if I alone (and perhaps a few others scattered throughout the planet) would survive. What would I do? I could never come up with an answer to that. The closest thing to an answer: I would devote my full time wandering around the world, learning how to survive in the wilderness (and the recently abandoned cities too), how to navigate a boat and how to develop a good sense of orientation to avoid getting lost. Other than that... I don't know, maybe I would devote my time to make my very own music with all acoustic instruments available, and meditate half a day. And why not, maybe I would sack a local library and read and read.

Now, though, I've come to the conclusion that, while a loner and while I love solitude, I still do need people around me, if only one. If I didn't have that at all... I probably wouldn't want to go on for long. Now I know it's not very nice to wish for most people to just die or disappear.

That being said, I am still a strong supporter of people having less kids (read: not stop having kids entirely, just reducing the rate considerably). But that's an utopia, and I no longer like to dwell in utopic fantasies that won't become reality in my lifetime.

Assuming there are no living animals either, it would look like I'm becoming a vegetarian regardless of if I want to or not.

Next, I would find a vehicle and raid a ton of supermarkets for non perishable supplies and toilet paper. I would then travel to some place where the climate is pretty constant like Southern California. I would also get a nice stretch of freeway cleared out, get in an exotic sports car and top the baby out at full speed. Same with other fun toys like ATV's, Jet Ski's and other cool stuff. Next, I am raiding military bases and getting every cool weapon I can get my hands on and as much ammo as I can get my hands on and would be blowing crap up for no reason.

thats right the end has come but you have survived due to a virus that you are immune to.....and there is now no living life left on earth just you

Oh, wait, you mean to say that there are no animals and no plant life left? What a horrible place to live that would be! If no life was left, I would just shoot myself. Or just die from starvation and a poisoned air (or some extreme weather conditions that certainly would happen with nothing to regulate it).

I sold my soul to a seventh grader for his lunch, years ago..... :hiding:

What do you mean by "...whoever was left behind similarly on our last planet would rejoin us on this one..."?

Well, civilizations have come and gone with nary a trace...
now Im not saying that this has happened, but its entirely possible, to me, that man may have existed elsewhere in the Universe before being brought to the planet Earth.

Anyways, what I understand to be the soul cannot be bought or sold. Whoever said that theres no such thing as a free lunch was wrong! Unless you want to take into account what an attempt to do so would leave on yours.

Someone needs to invent steak and bacon seeds.

Just start freezedrying it and saving it in packets! I mean, you cant grow a pig from a slice of bacon, but at least you can still enjoy it after the apocalypse!

Well, according to a book I saw laying on the tank of somebody's toilet, Men are apparently from Mars and women originated from Venus....

But it was a silly looking book [IMO] for a exobiologist to have written, though.... :eyebrow:

The end justified the means. ;)

It would depend where I was. If I was in the location where I live now, I could probably live pretty comfortably. Plenty of food, shelter and clothing all around. I could take a walk to GC for all the gear I'd ever need. Heck, I'd probably just shack up there. I could take a walk on the freeway to lead me to the beach or the mountains or anyplace at all I felt like going. Life would be pretty sweet actually as long as I didn't die from a disease or in the jaws of an animal. I just couldn't listen to music. That's the only negative I can think of, really.

Your wish is coming true. In many countries, the population is actually shrinking. The average family size is something like 2.7 in the US if I remember right.
