slander! power pop is not soft rock! (OK yeah, the older stuff probably gets played on the same stations, but still...)

anyway, i'm surprised by how many of these i'd never heard before, i'm usually pretty good at recognizing the radio cheese throughout the years.

it's also interesting seeing these old videos, how many of of these mild little tunes had a bass player cranking it out with a pick!

I was just going to add 'Make Me Smile' -Chicago...but in pulling it up, I remembered they have a whole catalog of soft rock songs amidst their many other great songs.

Great thread - this is my favorite stuff actually - soft / yacht rock.

Grew up spending a few weeks out of each summer in Anaheim with my aunt and uncle and he lived by this stuff. I can remember riding down Lincoln Ave with him and he would rock this stuff hard(soft). I always thought he had it going on Great suggestions!
