Solder-Free Connectors?

Viewed in isolation, learning to solder on one's own makes sense (esp. if you're going to be doing it a lot). However, in my life, there are so many DIY/pay someone else decision points that one has to know one's limitations and make these decisions strategically.

It's likely that your main problem is you're using some cheap crappy soldering iron.

Trooper beat me to it - a decent soldering station makes all the difference. Or, farm that work out if you're not so inclined, no one's opinion but yours matters on what you have the time for.
