Some physics questions

Ok, 2 is pretty straightforward. Some things to keep in mind is the right hand rule for cross-products (or you should have at least learned it for currents/moving charges in magnetic fields) and that magnetic fields do no work (at least in this setup). Keeping that in mind all of the required formulas are on the formula sheet.

7 is also quite straightforward, so I'm not sure what to tell you about that one, you can do it easily with the formulas in the Atomic and Nuclear Physics section. What in particular is giving you trouble on that one?

7 might be hard if you don't have the formula handy for energies of hydrogen-like atoms, and then realize you use the reduced mass of the positron-electron pair, instead of just the mass of the electron. so you end up with the energy for the ground state of the hydrogen atom, divided by two. ...that's all a bit subtle for a high school class, i think.

but the rest is straightforward once you have the relevant formulas handy.

Although I saw a program on String Theory at high school which said there are 11 dimensions according to string theory.

maybe at one point, there was an 11-dimensional theory, but it's not on the list. of course, i'm out of my depth with that stuff (so far!), anyway.

on 2 i just didn't know how to begin. i'm pretty sure i could work it out if i had a start.

on 7 i just lacked knowledge of concepts and backgrounds, since we never covered it in school.

this thaught me one thing though: don't trust the teacher to teach you what you need to know, learn it on your own :hmm:
