Not even close; my $179 SX Jazz 5 with 2-piece ash body is much better.That looks like a $300 bass

A cosmetically challenged bass usually plays and sounds just a little better, because it needs to.
It might, though. Often, really dissimilar pieces like those will shrink differently and may make a very noticeable ridge at the joint, crack the finish, or they may even stress the joint enough to split it. It's just bad juju IMO.it structurally "doesn't matter," .
