Some random observations from here on the earth

Here we have faster traffic, dumber people, worse music, higher prices, lower wages and worse food. Quality is decreasing, quantity is increasing. The divorce rate is rising, the belief in happily-ever-after is rapidly fading and gun and alcohol sales are way up, as are heroin overdoses and suicide rates.
I reckon that's the long and short of it.
What no free parking? :D

The daylight hours are getting shorter
If you are headed downtown here it is quicker and easier (and cheaper) to take mass transit or ride a bike
Our city hall and one of our landmarks called Coit Tower are both lit up orange at night. In honor of the SFGiants
Food trucks are ubiquitous and we even have whole areas dedicated to food trucks. One has patios and entertainment. Going there tonight to watch baseball with all the youngsters.

Should I get a hipster haircut?

Nahhhhh!

Just wear these

I think all will be well. Also if you could sing Ghost and Gale tunes ( ok I actually dig what they are laying down... ) that would help.

Here in Miami, we are bracing for the season's first blast of bone-chilling sub-80 degree highs. Weighty decisions on whether to run the pool heater lie just around the corner.

The first snowbirds have arrived, to be followed by a herd of nomadic street people.

The season's first stone crabs rest on beds of ice at the fish market.

Speaking of birds, various migratory (non-human) fowl can be seen. Hawks are on the prowl, evidenced by patches of blue jay feathers on the ground.

Office coffee talk about the Florida governor's race, apparently Our Beloved Gov refused to debate his opponent because of the presence of a small electric fan on the opponent's podium. They're calling it "Fangate." Yet another sinkhole in the vast swamp known as FL politics...

Looking forward to this (relatively) mildew-free time of year.

Where I live all I've noticed is something that's probably true in lots of other places. 95% of high school and middle school kids are terrible.

Back when I was a kid, we thought we were being rebellious and misunderstood. Now I know we were just punk kids misbehaving. When we didn't do our homework, it was because homework was stupid and irrelevant. Now I know it was just being lazy and kinda dumb. I don't think the quality of kids has gone down. We are just cranky old fogeys now. Kids these days...

Yup I was too. Self absorbed, terrified and trying to figure out my place in the world. Eventually accepting that I am an oddball and that is a good thing. That took a long, long, time. In fact I still have to pause and remind myself of that sometimes.
My quirkiness doesn't make me better or worse than anyone else it is just who I am. It is also important to remind myself not to get smug because I am so awesome. :wacky:
