Songs that left you speechless

I worked at a Bread and Roses Festival at the Greek Theater in Berkeley in the very early 90's when this record was released and she was pretty much a nobody. Before she played I saw this semi-cute little woman sitting at a dinning table backstage tuning her guitar and then she went out and slayed in her own way. She played this song and many others from Steady On and you could have heard a pin drop in the audience. She was memorizing. Shotgun is probably my favorite Shawn Colvin song. Nice choice.

One that instantly came to my mind after seeing this thread's title is "Minuano (Six-eight)" by Pat Metheny. Especially because before hearing it, Mr. Metheny was a mode-wanker to me. "Minuano" (co-written with Lyle Mays) was the one that showed me what a great composer he is. A true work of art.

He grew up in the same town as me!

Immortal Technique - Dance with the Devil.

This track is probably the single most lyrically amazing hip hop track in history, it tells a truly heartbreaking tale of a young man from the ghettos vicious downward spiral. I honestly get tears to my eyes when he realizes he has just raped and murdered his own mother...

1 anathema- one last goodbye
2 arch enemy - behind the smile
3 stratovarius- black diamond
4 Metallica - orion
5 dream theater - space dye-vest
6 Nekrophagist - only ash remains

1,2,3,5 have a great meaning to me for several reasons that i wont describe

4,5 are two of the songs that should be a reference to every metal bass player (and to every other bass player in the world IMO) :bassist:
