Songs that left you speechless

"O Superman" by Laurie Anderson. I've never heard anything like it, and it's incredibly eerie and moving at the same time.

The closest thing I can think of is "Hide And Seek" by Imogen Heap. Both songs are based on the use of a vocoder, but "O Superman" is still a piece unto itself.

"Woman In Chains" Tears For Fears
"Badman's Song" Tears For Fears
"Cantus In Memory of Benjamin Britten" Arvo Part
"Some Children See Him" James Taylor
"Last Plane Out" Toy Matinee
"Late In The Evening" Paul Simon
"I Just Wasn't Made For These Times" Beach Boys
"Blink Of An Eye" Michael McDonald

a few of mine:

cemitary gates - pantera
hallowed be thy name - -iron maiden
steady as she goes - the racontours
alone with you - the suney boys
mamma i'm commin home - ozzy ozbourne
layla - derick and the dominoes

there are more but that'll do

Little Wing - SRV version
Breathe - Breaking Benjamin
Daniel - Elton John
Drown - Son Volt (this should be right under Little wing)
I aint the one - NWA
Angie - Rolling Stones
Under My Thumb - Rolling Stones
Angel - Sarah Mclachlan
Tax Man - The Beatles (my mother had this on plastic and I played it over and over as a child)
In a White Room? - Cream

Cruise Missile - Steve Morse

I'd never even heard the name Steve Morse in my life, when this geeky dude I knew slightly decides to put this CD (The Introduction) on at a party

Morse's monster chops definitely got my attention right from the get-go and Jerry Peek's bass line was pretty impressive, especially when he was playing the unison section with Morse, but towards the end of the bass solo.........

I'd never heard the two-handed tapping style applied to bass before that moment. Dumbstruck is exactly the right word to describe my reaction
