Brilliant music. Horrid sound. Sadness.

The production is kind of on par with Metallica's black album or Nirvanas Nevermind, I'll give you that ..... Would be cool to hear what it could have sounded like in the L.D. 50 style(I was not impressed by a lot of the 'demos' on By the People for The People).

But The New Game? Now there is an example of a poorly executed record (not to mention Chads questionable lyrics by this point). The self titled black-light album is phenomenal. Actually, they all are. Lol. Fanboi here . . . . .

How is the remaster?

It's good. Very good. I know Rush weren't happy with the original master, which probably explains why they released a remastered version in such a relatively short space of time (if you can call a period of time over a decade relatively short). I don't find the original 'unlistenable', but the music speaks with much greater quality on the remaster.

Almost the entire Abby Road album. Phil Spector did not do the Beatles any favors on that one. Granted I believe he had a lot of unfinished work he had to tidy up. But the final release by the greatest RNR group of all time deserved better.

Linda Ronstadt did a couple of albums of old standards. All of the song choices were solid, but the producer insisted on having Nelson Riddle do all of the sting arrangements. Horrible choice. The string arrangements subtract instead of adding to the beauty of her voice and the quality of the songs.

Appetite for Destruction. Great rocking tunes, but I can't stand Axl's voice. The stupid whistle in Paradise City - why is it there?

Although this doesn't really have anything to do with the producer.

I have to disagree with you.
I found the album was not over produced. It was raw and simple. If anything the illusions albums were overedone

I would agree on GnR, but I would say everything *after* AfD. Most glaring case of full-of-themselves (or himself, rather) ever documented in Use Your Illusion I & II. Appetite was kinda perfect.
