Hey, I wanted to learn some songs with bass solos, but I don't know any songs with bass solos so that's what I'm asking for songs with cool bass solos.

jaco on Joni Mitchell's "Shadows and Light" DVD is great to see and listen to. It also includes a great solo by drummer, Don Alias.

I normally avoid songs with bass solos, but if you want to rock it old school, and learn a song that will teach you a lot about bass carrying both rhythm and counter-melody, with a grindy great (short) solo at the end, then try Jeff Beck's "Spanish Boots", with Ronnie Wood on bass.

Sometimes the guitar solo can work on bass , I do the solo on zeppelins "over the hills and far away" .

Rush's Red Barchetta has a bass solo during the outro, with Alex just playing the harmonics that form the "main" riff.

Portrait of Tracy... it is a solo bass piece more so than a solo within a song, but it is one my favourite tracks, and fun to play.

I will also +1 the Lemon Song, if you get that solo down anybody that doesn't like you... sucks.
