Songs You Remember Growing Up With As A Child

Not sure how off-topic this was, but I have been thinking about music I grew up with as a child; I think it's interesting how musical taste develops. So here's one I remember:

I listened to the original by Diana Ross and the Supremes growing up

One that stands out is Don Williams' version of Tulsa Time. My dad had that in the truck. Another was Rockit by Herbie Hancock, as well as I Love Rock 'n Roll as done by Joan Jett.
There are a lot but those stand out.

honestly I'm not sure, I kinda just googled the lyrics and what surfaced to the top first I posted it because I have a fuzzy memory.

The Supremes had lots of hits back in the 60's, Cant hurry love was just one of many

For some reason, it was songs like "The Girl From Ipanema" and "Windy" that formulated many of my earliest musical memories. Also "Sugar Sugar," "Little GTO," and the themes from "The Banana Splits" and "The Monkees" TV shows.

A couple that come to mind was a handful of pop songs that riddled the airwaves when we only had AM radio for the most part. Magic (by Pilot), and Seasons in the Sun.

But a few years later when I really started to get into music, it was Kiss, Sabbath, Zeppelin, Van Halen...

I was a victim of countrified-pop as a child, but later got turned onto Ozzy Osbourne by a kid who moved to town from someplace more urban. I can't even recall where he was from, but he insisted we call him Ozzy, LOL!
Later, as a Freshman, I moved to a school with my cousins & one was into bands like Boston & J. Geils. The other, closer to my age, was into Quiet Riot, Dokken, Motley Crue, KISS.

At the time no Heavy Metal (or even Glam Metal) was on the radio.
I went to work at 16 (1/2 days) & had to put up with country on the radio, except for one song that I wished they'd play on repeat. Funk #49 by the James Gang.

Kokomo (Beach Boys) always reminds me of my childhood for some reason.

America-Horse with no name, Proud Mary. I traveled the country as a kid. My father was a lounge lizard (Musician that plays hotel lounges, bars) when those songs came out. He hated Proud Mary until the day he died.lol
