Sound and setup questions, from a clueless new b

Hi all.
I have two questions:
1. What could cause the A string to be relitivly flat on the neck, in the 3 4 first frets? Maybe its all the strings? Im not sure but its very noticble in the A string

2. I understand nothing about sound, and all the words involved( learning slowly) but I like the sound when I plug the vox bass, in the green light mode. How can I set my fender rumble v3 40 to sound close to it? It has too many knobs...

Yes... its hard to explain, but thats the feeling I get. It all started when I chaned strings to ligter gauge, and the whole thing got out of control. Some guys here guyfed me, and now its much better, still something bothers me with the strings

Yeah, new and different strings may require adjusting things on the bass.

Maybe if you raise the bridge for the A string a little bit, it may help.

Problem is you cant raise one string in this bridge, its Accucast b4, I think.

Happens! When you start! (actually it can happen later too!)

When your A string feels too "flat and easy"

you can check the other strings to be nice and easy too!!!

get the other strings to the same level.

Maybe if you raise the bridge for the A string a little bit, it may help.

Thanks, I think I have tried everything, only thing Icanthink of is maybe some of the nut slots are too deep/big for current strings. Ugh, I have to take her to someone,

A setup isn't very expensive. I would just pay someone to do one for you if you're in doubt of what adjustments to make.

I didn't see you were in Israel. Here it costs around $30-50. That's less than 1/10th (maybe less than 1/20th) of what you'd spend on a decent bass.

It's a great thing to teach yourself to do, but there's nothing wrong with paying for a setup if you're feeling unsure.

Of course, But I just paid 99 $ for a basic set up for another bass and it was poorly done. I have to take it to Tel Aviv in order to get a good set up, so its a bit of a chore for me

My first thought was a nut slot cut slightly too low, but you do not have to take it to someone. Trust me, you can fix it yourself. Watch this Dan Erlewine video from StewMac and you’ll see how easy it is:

Problem is you cant raise one string in this bridge, its Accucast b4, I think.

It's an Accucast BIV, and it looks like there are Allen screws on both sides of the bridge plate, instead of screws on the individual saddles, according to Ibanez at their support site: Invalid Link Removed .

I have a vox amplug and a Rumble 100. But I like the rumble better, never tried to make it sound like the vox!

But I will say the vox is “cleaner” than the rumble. I’d try bright on, vintage off. Cut the bass to 9:00 and go from there
