Latency is what I'm most worried about though - I've read mixed reviews of The Drop, with some people saying the latency makes them unusable, and a few people swearing by them.
My Drop is indispensable on guitar. It's a little rougher on bass but you're not going to do better.

Thanks, I've no idea if it's possible or not, I just thought after I pulled the trigger on the Drop I wonder if I've already got something that can do this... I won't need it to be polyphonic (at least if I've understood that correctly and refers to multiple notes being played at once?!) I'll mainly be using it for tunes like No One Knows by QOTSA and hopefully avoiding having to spend a minute detuning.

Welp! Did some testing on soloing the Monophonic Pitch 1, and.... it seems like it does more of some kind of differential frequency calculation than actual pitch shifting. At Oct -1, it sounds like a synthy voice a little bit like the "Ring" setting on the Korg MS-20 synth's Oscillator 2. But at Semi -2, it ALSO sounds like that oscillator, with a massive interaction between the input pitch and processor. This is all 100% wet, no dry or bypassing signals, just the Voice with fixed interval.

It's a non-starter. And I didn't realize it was completely useless for anything other than juicy noisecore at non-octave settings. Probably fun with expression input!

Anyway, yeah keep the DigiTech haha

So general consensus seems to be that a C4 isn’t going to be as good as a stand-alone (POG/T-Rex Quint/Pitchfork) for octave up and down (and 5th up in the Quint’s case)? Does that seem right? I was hoping it could be an octave pedal plus a bunch of other crazy stuff, especially at similar price points. If it helps, I’m just looking for an octave pedal to mix in a little -1 octave or +1 octave as needed. The octave mix will never be more than 50%. The Quint with the added 5th is my current front runner.

The SA C4 paired with the Quint Machine is a Monster sound by the way, I use that quite often to fill things out.

Has anyone gotten their C4 to interface with a DMC.micro without using the gHost adapter, just a USB mini-B to mini-B?

In an attempt to keep my board as clean as possible I bought a mini-B to mini-B to eliminate the extra cable length and connection the gHost introduces, but the devices don't recognize one another despite having been set up (USB set to Host, etc.). I know the DMC.micro needs to have pin 5 of the connector pulled to logic low in order to go into “OTG” mode, but I have no idea how to check whether or not a particular cable will do this. Clearly the one I bought does not. Any suggestions from folks who succeeded in this area?

Yeah, That's how mine is working - no adapter just a cable with identical USB mini-B male ends. I couldn't find any that had a right-angle end, unfortunately....and I don't love the connectors (they're long).....but it works great: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B..._b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pldnSite=1

I'll look into these, thanks!

@drewphishes yeah, those are the ones I got. I love the right-angle and the length, but they don't work. Must not be OTG. They work for you?

Despite my disappointing findings with the mono pitch shifter for intervals like maj 2nds, it's what is used in the OC-2 style preset that ships with the pedal in the first slot. And octave down kicks tail on this thing. Octave up actually isn't bad either, in light of being analog-styled, and for both of those, the latency is excellent. I can't hear any delay when playing (in contrast with my Pitch Fork, which I can't really use for clean octaves due to its slapback-type latency).

People have also recommended making use of the synth oscillators for pitched voices since they can be put anywhere, layered up, and filtered to taste. I've got a session later and should be able to experiment a little with that 5th-up interval, & can report back on that.

I'm home sick and finally getting around to playing with my current setup which comprises soleman, hub, c4, aftershock, and nemesis. <3
LOVING it. I finally got around to make a soleman panel that - similar to the SA example Nemesis beat divisions panel - changes the LFO rate according to beat divisions. So fun and effective.
From this I would like to propose for a future update of the C4 settings that one could have the option to Keep LFO Time Constant with New Preset, which would be the equivalent to the Nemesis' Keep Delay Time Constant with New Preset. Puh-leaaaaase :)
