Got C4 up and running 100% with midi switching now. already have come up with a few useful patches that I have worked into live shows.

This one intrigues me because every time I've tried something like it (BSW, SYB, MicroSynth, MonoSynth) it's just not beaten out what I can do with an octaver, filter and dirt. But if I can have one preset be, sayyy, a dirty octave and one be a 12-string emulator and one be just a straight-up West End Girls patch, which is the one sound i try to get out of a dang synth pedal, then that sounds like it might just be a winner.

Is there a simple hookup that you can get to step instead of toggle-switch between the circle, triangle and square presets?

Using my OC-2 as the classic one-octave down synth vibe always took a couple pedals...it plus a bypass/loop pedal with a level/volume control. I never liked the buffer on the pedal and if you want unity gain out of it with a single octave you have to boost the level out. So it's already a win to have a single pedal do that sound.

Indeed I love the Croceye. That and the micro.clock are controlling the C4 via midi.

Your layout is really nice. At some point I'd love my board to be so well spaced and structured. So you've got the micro.clock clocking your whole MIDI chain and the other is doing all your controlling? I'm lucky enough that all our songs are played to click so I can have my delay and time-sync patches pre-programmed...but that's a great setup.

I wish I could get my groups to use a click. I just recently got my new board up and running....the old one was a travesty of cable spaghetti. I'm still thinking of switching out the manta and orbital mod for SA's newer one series models, but I've grown very attached to my presets on those units

The click has some really good points and one or two negatives. Generally our drummer is the only one who has it in his ears but others can opt in if they wish. Sometimes it's nice to be able to present a song faster or slower depending on the situation but generally the consistency it offers is a great thing. It took us a bit not to lean into or back off on certain parts of songs but once that was sorted it' became an un-issue.

This is an example of a song that benefits from click live. It moves from a higher energy funk feel to a more traditional one-drop, and has a way of 'breathing' a bit too much without.



For me most of the clock related stuff is my delay and I've got my timeline's patches all matched to our master BPM list. Our guitarist certainly does. My reverb does have a LFO that I could key to clock or list but generally that's overboard. So far I haven't had any synth patches (Future Impact on my board these days) that I've needed to clock but it could become an option. I'm notoriously bad at tapping in on stage.

So far I'm liking the pedal though I'm not sure it will replace my analog filter and octave pedals. It seems no matter what I do my tone gets a bit thinned out while using the pedal. The octave doesn't sound as thick and "connected" to the original signal as it does with the analog pedal. The envelope filter is similar. I have much more playing to do.

Can anybody please help me as I am at my wit's end concerning my C4.Admitedly I have very little expertise using computers and I've reread the manual untill my eyes bleed but I can't seem to make any headway.I have a cable to connect the pedal to my phone or tablet and the connections fit properly and if I knew how to upload a picture of it I'd do so but as all the USB connections fit I assume it is the one.I come from a time when computers weren't in existence and I'm ashamed to admit it's like I have A.D.D . trying to teach myselfcomputer skills .I probably bit off more than I can chew buying this and should have got a plug and play like the Boss sy1,but being the old thick headed Irishman I refuse to quit.I,'v scoured the internet,emailed S.A. with questions (they gave me a # and said they'd get back but didn't) and nada.I read the forum and see how most do this stuff like falling off a log and I'm so envious and if I knew a 10 yr.old I'd pay him to help but I don't know one.Well I'm sorry for this ridiculous rant but my frustrations are maxed and I was hoping to get them off my chest.

you said you've made the physical connections to either your phone/tablet or computer. have you also downloaded the neuro editor on the device you are connecting to?

Yes, I have downloaded it to both my phone and tablet.I,'ve been looking for upgrades but when I open the app it doesn't look like it does in pictures in the manual.I don't get the blue rectangle with the symbol with the yellow lighting thru it in the upper left as it shows in the manual.The page it opens to says new c4 preset at the top then below are master controller,below that is voices,distortion ECT.im obviously missing something.

When using my phone, I run an 1/8” cable from the headphone jack and into input 2 with the included adapter. It’s a one way communication with a phone/tablet by the way: you can only send data from the portable to the pedal.
