Source Audio Collider Delay + Reverb

Hi,
Here's my question :
Did the collider can do that :
1) : Make one preset for a short delay setting, and another preset for a longer one setting,
because i wanted sometimes to :
2) : When i played fretless, i like to play with a very short delay ( no problem at this time) BUT, i'm looking for a delay pedal with another footswitch (or same) for changing the time of the delay instantaneously during my playing ( longer for example), and return to the short delay with the footswitch, always with a reverb (or not) at the same time of course.
Is it possible with the Collider ?

Yes! You can toggle the pedal from a dedicated reverb side and delay side to delay and delay, or reverb and reverb, each with a footswitch. So, you can save a short delay on the left in Oil Can, Analog, Digital, Reverse, or Tape, and have a longer delay in either of those. And you can save the various controls for each in the preset, and engage one or both at your leisure.

But if you're wanting reverb, too, no such luck. But you could create a preset that follows where you combine a delay and reverb and switch presets.

I find this pedal for doing this thing very easily, but you can only change the time fonction when you programmed the 2nd delay.

About a month into playing with my Collider and I'm far away from mastery. But I also think I'm experiencing a bug and I'm curious if anyone else has seen this too. If I'm using a preset and then select another preset, the second preset produces a sound that is nothing like the actual 2nd preset. In order to pull up the "correct" preset I have to disengage at least one of the dsps and then re-engage it. I can't imagine this is anything but a bug. I've updated all the firmware, is this a known issue? @rsmith601,

I would be sure you are on the most recent firmware. There were a few preset issues, but they are all eliminated as far as I know. @Gibs210 am I missing anything?

make sure your up to date, and try backing up your pedal and then perform a factory reset, then reload your settings. Beyond that I would need a video to see what is going on exactly, as well as your backup file for testing if the issue persists.

I've had a collider for about 3 weeks now and have used it practicing at home and in a studio with a band. I played with the editor which works very well and is pretty intuitive. There aren't a ton of controls but what is there works well.

I plugged my Moog expression pedal in tried tying it to different parameters - delay time is pretty fun if a little nauseating, but tying it to both channels wet/dry mix works really well - pedal back to dry when you playing alot of notes and pedal forward when you aren't (or at hte beginning/end of a phrase). Using the external expression in for tap might be better tho - left left button is both tap and delay on/off, but you can't set a time until the delay is on, so i just kept on turning the delay on & off quickly instead of actually setting the time. (if you have an extensive MIDI setup you of course can set the delay time with an external MIDI pedal).

I described it to my guitarist - "Bassist don't really have a need for delay or reverb, so i got both functions I won't use in a single pedal"... (sorry to brush the entire bass communities playing with a single brush stroke). I also have the TC hall of fame 2 and the TC Flashback 2, and I think it sounds a little better than both those units. The reverb really does help fill out slower basslines, and you can set the tempo correctly you can use a delay as part of the bass line, but both functions can also make your bass lines muddy and sounding inarticulate (this is true with any reverb and delay, not just this one).

The 2 TC units are more configurable using the mac/pc app and have the option of toneprints - the Collider has the dozen algorithms and 5 parameters per sound and thats it, but they do sound good. The ability to have 2 reverbs or 2 delays is a nice feature as well.

For those that need a single pedal for both functions the collider works really well. It doesn't do looping or is a tweakers paradise, but its a great sounding unit thats easy to use and can be integrated into a much more complex pedalboard with no problem. It is going to stay on my board for a while...

It looks like the Collider only supports the 5 delays shown on the panel and I didn’t see any additional ones in the app. Any plans to update to support engines like Noise Tape, Sweeper or Degrade?

Thanks Roger, I can appreciate that, sometimes limitations are good. The Nemesis is a fantastic pedal, I have no doubt the Collider will be great too. I placed and order with Sweetwater this morning.

Hello all, I just bought myself a Collider to simplify my pedalboard a little (currently have a Nemesis & a Neunaber Immerse Mkii). I’m posting my question here because it seems to be the most popular Collider post.

I got the Immerse because of it’s high-pass options to keep the mud outta my reverberations. I’m seeing info that the Collider’s tone knob has similar functions but, I can’t find specifics about frequencies. I was wondering if @rsmith601 or anyone else might be able to help or point me toward where to find such info?

I love the Source Audio one series so thanks for what you guys do over there. You have single-handedly restored my faith in digital pedals. That C4 is a beast!

This knob is engine specific. What it does changes depending. The settings were all lifted from the Nemesis and Ventris will as little change as possible. Those were tweaked by ear. It would be hard to quote you the exact frequencies for the range of each.

I own the keeley Caverns delay/reverb. Seeing the SA Collider gives me GAS. Presets, tap tempo, MIDI control. All in close to the same form factor. well damn...

I'm predicting my Caverns v2 might be for sale here in the near future, as I just jumped on one of these gas givers myself

Random question about the Collider (love this pedal, btw):

Is there a way to phase invert the mono output? There's a lot of deep edit software settings, kinda hoping there is a 180' phase flip setting. I'm running a parallel setup and when I engage my Collider I hear some cancellation happening. Flipping the phase on my mixer does the trick, but that's not practical when using it in a stompbox/performance setting.
