Two questions:

(1) I'm not near my board but I've connected the Hub and OFD to my computer to update the firmware. OFD says it's version 4. However, when I look to update the firmware, the firmware that was downloaded (with the Hub Manager software) for SA228 seems to be version 3 (filename is SA228_3_firmware.hex). Is Version 4 the latest firmware, and if it's not, where do I download the latest (I didn't find anywhere else to download firmware when poking around the SA sight).

(2) How many 1/8" TRRS cables are a SB2 and a Hub supposed to come with?

SB2s don't come with any. I think the Hub comes with 4? Sorry, I am about 300 miles away from the SA office at the moment!!

I believe I got three sensor cables with my Hub.

Okay, I had 0 with the Soundblox and 3 with the Hub. Just wanted to make sure that was right. Thanks everyone!

I have enough for my current purposes and near future plans, I just wanted to make sure I had everything that was supposed to be there.

It is possible of course to solve this by using dual scenes (and patches/presets on your MIDI controller) and scroll up and down to switch the pedal on and off but I don't want to work that way. It becomes even more cumbersome if you want to turn more than one pedal on and off individually during a song.

Exactly why I didn't like the majority of the current small MIDI controller - I don't want to have to scroll through presets/banks, I just want to press the switch and make things change. But yeah, after making one of those I kinda forgot that the scrolling kind existed. Then, yes, having the preset-saving function in scenes would be extremely valuable.

Recently I've been more and more into going from "on" to "off" using expression pedal, especially for distortions, but also to control the wet/dry mix of filters. Somehow it just sounds a lot better and I like the feeling that I can control how fast or slow I want it to turn on/off. I sometimes get annoyed by the sudden sound when a distortion kicks in or vanishes.

So, board's almost done. It seems like a good time to tell you guys how I have my SB2 pedals set up (Dimension, Orbital, Manta).

I have the Gecko on a side board. Every one of my presets has the pedal on, i.e. not bypassed. I have two favorite presets assigned to the switches of each SB2. Everyone of them is on a separate loop of a bypass looper strip. This allows me to load a scene, which I think of as "board", and then I can go in and out of effects at ease. My looper also has a master bypass button, so I can keep a scene up and have my clean tone. While I have a scene up: Want that traditional phaser instead of the scene saved one? Done. Want no filter and modulation and just heavy reverb for a 4 bar fill? Done in two stomps. Go from radically wet filter with modulation and slap back to straight and clean? One stomp.

It really opens the door to how you can use them. Hope this helped for anyone deciding how to run a board! Merry Christmas!

I watched the video on how to get the dubstep wobble out of the Manta, but he never stated which parameter he is controlling with the Hot Hand, nor which min/max settings. I'd like to see what I can accomplish with the DEP but cant find what setting to adjust with it to get that sound.

Edit: after some messing around it seems to be the frequency control. Gets me pretty close to the sound I thought it would.

You can make quicker movements with the HH, with the expression pedal you have both hands free for playing.

Am I understanding right that the Manta Bass Filter only has two save able presets (without any add-ons)? With so many sounds and tweaks, how do you keep track of all your favorite settings?

I think a Hub and MIDI footswitch are almost mandatory to get full use of the SA pedals.
