The HH is also multi-axis right?

I believe so, though I'm not sure how to use that currently.

My understanding is that multi-axis capabilities of the HH3 aren't really implemented in any meaningful way if you're only using the HH3 receiver direct into a SA pedal. I think maybe you can use them more with the Hub, and it's a big part of the HH USB. That's my understanding.

You can make quicker movements with the HH, with the expression pedal you have both hands free for playing.



I think a Hub and MIDI footswitch are almost mandatory to get full use of the SA pedals.

That's what I figured. I don't use enough effects to warrant such an elaborate setup, but that Manta Bass Filter looks so awesome and tempting just for fun.

@Smallmouth_Bass I'd say that although you need a Hub and MIDI capabilities for full use of SA pedals, the limited use of just the pedal alone is already pretty useful. Honestly, if you just need 1-2 flavours of filters to turn on/off during a gig, or maybe just need to set an envelope filter and leave it there for a whole song, the Manta alone would probably suffice. That's more or less how I used it before I got the Hub.

I watched the video on how to get the dubstep wobble out of the Manta, but he never stated which parameter he is controlling with the Hot Hand, nor which min/max settings. I'd like to see what I can accomplish with the DEP but cant find what setting to adjust with it to get that sound.

Edit: after some messing around it seems to be the frequency control. Gets me pretty close to the sound I thought it would.

Ok I finally figured this out. Another case of read the effing manual. The DEFAULT setting for exp and HH is to control the actual modulation of the filter. There doesn't appear to be a way to 'select' this after it's been changed, but resetting the external controls and starting over brings it back. I completely missed it the first time around and it took me a while to figure that out. Hopefully this helps someone in the future.

I'd prefer these since I have Amazon credit and prime. Is there an advantage/drawback to the up and down alignment versus one that goes sideways? I'd love to have a rotating one just to be able to be flexible but the price!!!

Rotating ones is where it's at in my opinion.

The hub may or may not have the same alignment as your controller. Also, if you mount the hub on the bottom, you may need the pins rotated at a weird angle to make it work. I love the BTPA ones. I did order them from Disaster area as well though since they have better shipping rates to Canada.

The Audio2000 ones are, IMO, a little sturdier but they stick out a little more, maybe by 0.5 cm or so. Also, they only come as short as 5', not 3'.

The Seismic Audio ones are smaller both at the connection and can be as short as 3'. But in general I don't like the "up" connection, depending on pedalboard construction that can get in the way of other pedals and/or you'll put strain on it when you close your case on it. However, if those things aren't an issue for you, then there might be some cases where you prefer the "up" connection, because the "down" connections need to be placed over a hole/slat in your pedal board.

I agree with @nshuman that rotating ones would be the ideal if money is no object (like it isn't for him ) but for the rest of us I don't think it's worth it.

If money was not an issue, I would not have gotten these in December

Setting up the expression pedal and finally integrating it into my board. I tried and tried and tried but I don't see how I'll possibly fit the Solemate on this board, I will have to either mount the hub underneath (which I still don't think will be enough) or move the DEP off which I don't want to do. A PT2 is probably coming very soon!

This is a work in progress, there's still a problem with the USB MIDI control of the Zooms that I'm trying to solve, and obviously there is also a bit of work left on cleaning up cables.

Signal path will be
Tuner->MS-60B->OFD->Manta->Orbital->MS-70CDR->SABDDI->Ditto

The expression pedal and the Hot Hand are for the SA pedals only, there is no control possibility with the Zooms. The top right switch was intended for tap tempo but that does not work so I will instead use it for quick recall of a favourite preset.

The DMC controller sends 5-pin MIDI to the SA hub and the gHOST converter, which in turn sends USB MIDI to the two Zooms via a USB hub. Selecting a preset on the DMC footswitch will change programs on all Zooms and SA pedals simultaneously, it's possible to combine programs from the Zooms and the scenes from the SA hub as a DMC preset. I'll have to make a video demo of this once I get it to function correctly.

I wanted the hub above the DEP but with the midi cables it sticks out too much. The tuner has to stay as I can barely see it as it is, I wouldn't be able to tell where I'm at on the M5.

I shared mine here a while back. I don't think there is a central location for them (yet)

If you got OFD/Manta settings I'd love to try them out.

I'm done with my board layout and currently programming all my presets for the new year. I'll be sure to share some favorites when it's all said and done.

I don't have any settings yet but that's my combo. Got the OFD and Hub for Christmas. I've been sick and with other stuff I haven't had as much time to play as I would have liked. I've mostly tested things out, but I'm all prepped to rewire my board, and then I'll be working on presets and scenes.
