Seems like a good idea. I'm still trying to figure out the most space-saving way to do it. I'm not having enough noise problems to make this a pressing concern atm though..

A while back someone mentioned a voodoo being used to power multiple SA pedals. I've been avoiding that since I didn't want to go below 100mA/pedal, but if more people have positive experiences I'd probably consider.

One last thing I haven't tried: running my controller off a portable USB charger. Can be done, but I've been lazy

update me in the S.A.S.S. list: now, finally, my pedalboard is done (famous last words!)
i have: the hub, hh3, exp pedal, multiwave bass distortion, ofd bass, manta, orbital modulator and the dimension reverb!

i won something? please source audio send me SA stickers and a shirt! LOL
sadly in italy there are few people that know SA pedals (in my town probably, no sorry, i'm sure: i'm the only one!), now i just have to conquer my country with wobwooobwooobwoooobles!

This is a follow-up from several pages back.

I got a second OFD which I'm going to use as an always on tube emulation. Primarily I'll be using the Tube Drive with low gain, though I've got the second preset dialed in for a more pronounced overdrive using the Power Stage setting with a slightly higher gain.

Feeding these into the second OFD does some cool things to my two presets there: Big Pi and Octave Fuzz. Anyway, that's just an initial take from 30 minutes of playing. I think I'm going to like this setup!

Sounds exactly like what I'm doing (except that I think I'm using the smooth tube)! I keep feeling that the crunchy low gain tubes are the best part of the OFD.

Yup, saw that although I wasn't too surprised. A video quite a while back suggested they were going to go that direction, and you see it with TC and Neunaber and possibly other brands too. I was more interested in how it *looks*: it's very different from all the current source audio pedals, if anything I'd say it looks a lot like the two brands I just listed, and Strymon. These three brands seem to be quite popular with a lot of guitarists, even among what I'd consider traditionalists. Seems quite a deliberate design choice to me.

I see this as incredibly smart. Most of the beef/critiques I've seen, and some reservations I had myself, is that the Soundblox pedals are immeeeeensely feature packed. A lot of people LOVE the "throw it on the board and let it do it's thang" approach, 80%ish of musicians I know that aren't constant gear tweakers. I'm imagining that SA is doing it twofold, and underneath the hood using the Hub you can use various scenes to save your presets and tweaks, a la SB2 style.

Yeah, it's weird because I really like the SB2 interface. I mean, there are some things I would change, but, all in all, I really like it. BUT, there is something to be said about a 2-3 knob pedal that you can get to sound just right in 30 seconds.

That's my always on sound too, low gain tube drive. Blend to taste.

Oh dear. If they come out with something that can replace the manta or OFD or something I might need to change up my pedalboard layout. I could use something smaller without a footswitch if it can be all MIDI-controllable.

Actually with this new design, it would be even easier to pack together into some kind of modular rack-mount MIDI-controlled unit.
