This "11 new products" thing is astounding. So, are we getting basically the most popular singular effects from the SB2 series?

Also, given the low price point of the SB2 pedals already, how cheap are these going to be? Or can they be a similar price and some people will still buy them on the grounds of simplicity?

Huh. Good for them I guess. Personally, though, I think you would have to reeeeeaaaaaallllly love that specific effort and/or reeeeeaaaaaallllllly dislike the SB2 pedals to get super excited about this.

There are definitely enough people who dislike the SB2. This may look simple, but they are still going to be quite powerful. If you look at prices for chorus pedals on the market, $149 is not bad, especially for something stereo and tweakable.

I think it makes sense for them to come out with these new pedals. Lots of people seem to have issues with the SB2 pedals' interface. I think the SB2 pedals are much better value, but, hey, you have to learn to use them, etc, etc, etc. Even just the shape of the SB2 pedals give them a disadvantage in people's eyes. I've had many boutique-in-a-sturdy-hammond-aluminium enclosure pedals fail me. Meanwhile, SB2 pedals are holding up nicely.

Keep in mine that with side jacks, there will be some space saving, but it's not going to be like a 2 for 1 difference.

In a rack, the SB2 pedals will be hard to beat space wise.

@Nic. if you want to rack the pedals, your best bet is just to get a drawer of shelf that doe snot make you lose too much space. I have a pull out shelf and, when I used it, I was able to put in a Cali76tx, Pork Loin, Super Grunt, Mol, Joyo UD, Disaster Area Smart Loop, power supply, and still had space leftover for quite a few more pedals. You should be able to very very easily put all the SB2 pedal collection, hub, and a bunch more stuff on one full depth rack shelf or drawer.

Maybe I should actually calculate the dimensions then. Just that offhand, the rectangular shape feels easier to fit.

But I realized I forgot something: even if the effects are completely tweakable, each box still only does one effect, so the "functionality density" is still lower than the sb2, at least for the Gemini vs orbital. So I guess it won't be as much of a space saver as I thought. When I made the previous post, what I envisioned was a small box that could access all the mwbd2 settings via editing software or MIDI control. I realize this might possibly be pretty unrealistic.

Yeah I'm guessing it'll come down a little bit to where the TC Pedals sell for now. I'm guessing that the mentality is that they're not "sub" versions of the SB2 pedals but more of a different take and feel and fits at home in the current SA ecosystem. More of a "Simple on the board, beast underneath" approach

The housings are really nice in person. Custom SA design.

If you have a scene with an Orbital Phaser, Gemini can play it. Lots of options. Gemini can also do all the Orbital stuff, you just need to edit it via USB or via your phone (more on this later).

"I want to tweak and geek" "I want top jacks" SB2 is your ticket.

"SB2 scares me with all the complexity and strange look" One Series is your ticket.

That makes sense. My earlier comment was not intended to be critical; I'm just not the target demographic for this product line.

I didn't totally want to post about this before doing some more testing, so I'll phrase the question as simply as possible and try to test later:

Under what conditions is or isn't the Hub outputting MIDI Clock over its MIDI Out port?

So, for us that are not scared by SB2, hopefully some new ones are on the way... ;)

I was actually put off by the SB2 looks to begin with, still am to some degree, but I'm willing to overlook it for the sound and functionality. Now, the new pedals look really nice, a bit Strymon-like ... just imagine the SB2 pedals rehoused in such regular square boxes, with that brushed metal structure, and top mounted jacks ... mmmmmmmm ... :)

The SB2 shape doesn't bother me at all. Yeah, they're weird/different but when you actually get them on your board they are a medium sized two-switch pedal with a virtually square footprint. Not really hard to get on your board at all.

I personally don't care much what pedals look like. I just want them as small as possible and with top jacks if possible and with power jacks on top. I will admit that I was never crazy about the looks of the SB1 pedals. I liked the colours they had, I was just not too crazy about the size and shape.

I really like the SB-2 pedals.
