This works. I just hooked the Hub up to my DAW and cranked the tempo up to about 1800 bpm, and it gave me some ring-mod-esque sounds similar to NSHuman's example. Note that there is an upper limit to the MIDI data rate, so you will, at some point, hit a brick wall.

Also, just a quick disclaimer... it probably goes without saying, but the Orbital wasn't designed to run at several thousand BPM. You will undoubtedly experience some very strange quirks and audible oddities.

Nice to hear. It does it make it harder to find a device that will do that kind of clock speed beyond a computer or ios device. Oh well, we shall see.

It does how that you guys can get some pretty great synthy sounds ;)

@nshuman that sounds absolutely sick. I need to try this with my Manta, although since it's updated to the latest version I don't think it'll work...

We are ready to call it a "feature" if it can be made more easily accessible ;)

So, this would be a great feature, having the ability to use the Neuro App or Hub Manager to save a scene at a very high tap tempo speed. Or call it "Crazy" mode or something. (Spaceman effects has a crazy mode on the Sputnik and they call that Corruption Mode :) )

This was a really hot topic several months ago. If I may characterize the Source Audio response, it was:

JUST KIDDING! Mostly.

Longer version: they did some R&D on it but tabled it in favor of all the other stuff they have coming out. No promises of if/when they would return to it in the future.

So! As long as we are giving @rsmith601 an ulcer by bringing up the synth again...

I was pondering whether I would hypothetically want such a hypothetical pedal in the SB2 or One Series format. I could see the arguments for either. But it did make me wonder, is the One Series format restricted to the existing 4-knob, 1-switch format? It would seem to me that the One Series "just what's on the face of the pedal" equivalent would be something that competes with a SYB-5 or BSY600, but that requires more than 4 knobs. Is concentric pots a thing that could happen on the One Series? If so, would there be additional Boneshaker-like delays?

Synth/octave type pedal from Source Audio would make me never think about a BMS ever again. My manta, T-65 and Mastotron gets me reaaalllly close to a synthh feel but I know Source Audio would do it perfectly. And it would be almost any synth sound I could want, especially with my Manta and Orbital I have coming.

I'd think more along the lines of the Nemesis if they were to pursue such a thing.

Jesse is deep into Reflex at the moment. Some folks have asked for a feature and I just saw it work with a Xerograph Deluxe.

If you provide Reflex with a MIDI clock over USB or MIDI, the Reflex can generate an analog expression-out waveform that is linked to the MIDI clock. Move the pedal up and down and you get different beat divisions.

I am not sure I have ever heard of driving an expression in with a signal tied to a MIDI clock. Does anything else do that?

I am hoping to ship small amounts of Reflex within 2 weeks. We are close!

As amazing as the Nemesis and Reflex are going to be, I'm suspecting to need some time to build up enough savings for them.

As awesome as this is, is it bad that I was already assuming the Reflex could do this? :whistle::whistle::whistle:
