Maybe playing jazz basses is why I never liked the VMT, the mids get to be too much. I'd probably like the deluxe version with EQ better, or the SA OFD for that matter, but I really don't need more overdrive pedals ...

Sorcerers. Apologise if this has been covered elsewhere, but is there any way to hook up a Moog EP-2 to the new Soundblox2 pedals, or do I need to buy the Source Audio expression pedal?
Since the SA pedals use 50k pots like the Moog, I would imagine you could make an adapter cable to convert the 3-conductor TRS connector into the 4-conductor mini 1/8" inch sensor connector?
I'm about to pull the trigger on an Orbital and would like to be able to use my existing expression pedal with it if I can!

At this moment, the only way to connect another vendor's expression pedal to SB2 pedals is via the SA Hub. I believe a few other folks have tried to create a 1/4' to 1/8" cable for that purpose, but I don't believe the results were good. The nice thing about the Dual Exp is that you can run it to SA pedals or the Hub and a standard 1/4" expression out for other pedals at the same time. I did this for years with my SA pedals and several other non-SA pedals (Xerograph DLX, Line6 M5, Prometheus, Wonderlove, Flashback x4, etc).
I really like the Multiwave and used the pro as my primary dirt for about two years. I moved away from it when we switched out guitar players and was running with some other dirt pedals for awhile until the OFD came available. If I wanted a bigger/wider board I'd still have it, but it's with the foldback included on the Manta, I'm happy enough without it.
I'm in calgary, Canada and your stuff isnt/wasn't stocked in any local stores. I bought it about a year ago directly through korg(the only canadian distributor). They shipped it to me directly as they were just in the process of getting distribution worked out with stores. As far as I know I was the first person to use source audio live here in calgary and get made fun of lots for my "LED ring". I have no idea how korg got it from you guys. It could have been a demo/sample they had kicking around for all I know...
I didn't even think about that! I need to play around with the distortions on the Manta some. Brilliant!
Mine wasn't. It sat very well in the mix. I tried various things to be more pronounced but nothing seemed to work. Someone suggested an EQ with more mid freq. so that's what I got. It worked. Pretty good too.
A couple more pics of the board. Realized I had the perfect spot for a tuner and got a nice deal off of eBay for a Pitchblack Portable. Works and fits quite nicely.

I don't know... I guess to me the statement "it sat very well in the mix" tells me you don't have a problem that needs fixing. But I suppose to some extent it's just semantics.
For me, sitting in the mix is undesirable. I used a Warwick thumb5 for years and cut through the mix like butter. Then it went down for some repairs for a few weeks so I grabbed an MIA jazz 5 as a backup, thinking it would be a nice contrast to have a "standard" bass to compliment my more "modern" 'Wick. Long story short I sold the jazz and picked up a used Warwick corvette 6 for less than I got the jazz for. Feels better build wise, and tonally I prefer how similar it is to my thumb.
What I learned is that standard just isn't for me.
I got a comment from a soundguy once after a gig, he said he didn't really hear the bass well but that the band sounded thin without it. (What a shock ). No-one noticed me until the channel was muted, and then something was missing - I guess I didn't exactly "cut through" that day.

This was/is my exact experience as well. My main player live and at practices up until now was an early '90's ibanez ATK 300. I'll still probably play that bass the majority of the time but I wanted to know that I could use my P too if and when I wanted to. Woth the type of music my band plays and the setting I'm in I need a bass that isn't nice and that sits pretty. I need an aggressive bass that cuts through and that the audience knows is there. Before, my P was present, but not pronounced. My ATK was dominant. Still is. It's just that kind of bass. But I've put so much work into my P over the years and I like it so much, I wanted to start throwing it in the mix with this band. I tried a few times to do so to no avail. I could never find the right variable to help me "pop" more. So I kept asking. I got a lot of suggestions. Some did little, others nothing. But when I started realizing it was all about EQ and finding out that what I was working with didn't have the necessary frequencies, someone suggested an EQ pedal. I love SA gear and I've heard that their PEQ was nice. So I went for it. and it worked. And I'm happy. My P is where I want it to be in the mix now. Prominent.
It's actually the Markbass Octaver, which itself seems to be an OC-2 clone with a little higher output.
Who made that board, I see the tag but the name is obscured? One SA pedal wider would be perfect and a PEQ could go in the bottom space! Your cabling is so nice and tight. It's made by The Custom District. This one is 19"x10" and the top tier is 18"x5" and 2.5" above the bottom tier, tall enough where you could put a fairly standard size pedal (like a TAFM or another SA pedal). You can't access that pedal easily, but something like the Octaver that I keep on the same setting. I thought about going 4" wider on the bottom to hold the dual expression pedal, but I currently don't use it with the band and I like to switch it out between the left and right side sometime, so it made sense to keep it off board. Mainly I was trying to keep the board as small as possible.
Everything is powered by a Cioks DC10, it replaced the Voodoo Labs 4x4. The only thing I liked better about the 4x4 was the power plug location, the size of the DC10 makes it much easier to fit other stuff underneath the tier. If you aren't so concerned about keep it as small as possible, I'd also look at making the bottom tier an inch deeper. The only power that the Iguana Tail (I have the original one, not the 2) is outputting is to the tuner. Supposedly the tuner needs 135ma, but seems to be working while powered off the Iguana Tail which is connected to a 100ma tap on the DC10.
Was fiddling around with my Red Panda Particle trying to get a wonky delay dialed in for a NIN cover I wanted to record and stumbled across something neat. Put inside the Enormodome it sprung to life. Every time I kick that D.Reverb preset on I just want to crawl inside that pedal and live there forever

Yeah man. SA Dimension Reverb and just about anything on enormodome rock , especially on the ThunderBolt 6!

I just picked up my first Source Audio pedal (Orbital Modulator) a few hours ago, and I must say I haven't been impressed with a piece of gear like this in ages. I've already programmed in a lush (but not overbearing) chorus and an envelope controlled phaser, which I intend to use on some of my upcoming Jazzfest and Bayou Boogaloo gigs. This thing sounds just as good if not better than a lot of my analog pedals, and it's super easy to program. Really, really impressive.
I haven't been gigging with pedals for a long time now, largely due to the fact I didn't want to be taking out my expensive boutique pedals on the road. Once my pedalboard reached the $9k mark, it seemed a bit dangerous. Now that I've discovered these SA pedals, methinks it's time to build a new compact pedalboard - I'll be picking up the OFD and the Manta this week. If there was an SA delay, I'd hop on that too (not much need for reverb on bass in med to large venues).
Time to get funky.
