Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

A quick question about the One Series: Is it possible to use the High Pass Filter only, without otherwise affecting your sound? What I'd like to do it use my Mercury Flanger as an "always on" high pass filter by turning the effect completely down so they don't otherwise impact the signal.

I know from trying to use the EQ in the Bass OFD independently that this doesn't work. SA had confirmed "When you select an effect and engage it, and roll the drive knob all the way down to zero, the effect is not fully bypassed. This is actually intentional! The OFD is simulating that circuit type with the drive set to zero, and is it turns out, this is not completely transparent in the real world." I'm wondering if this is different with the new Parametric EQ in the One Series.

In short, is it possible to use the High Pass/Parametric EQ only with the pedal?

Got a very helpful reply from Nathan Navarro at SA letting me know that this will work with the distortion pedals only:

"The Mercury Flanger cannot be used in this way without coloration, but the Programmable EQ, or any of the One Series distortions (Kingmaker Fuzz, L.A. Lady Overdrive, AfterShock Bass Distortion) are able to achieve a high pass filter without coloring your tone. The Programmable EQ will do this by default when cutting the lower frequencies, and for the One Series distortions, the “Clean” engine must first be selected using the Neuro Mobile App or Neuro Desktop App."

Thanks Nathan!!

I really dig Source Audio. The people and the product are awesome. I want them to do well and succeed. I've
never really felt this way toward a pedal manufacture before. I've never been a fan boy towards anything. I currently have 8 source audio products lol.
That is so incredibly nice! Thank you! We are a small company trying to do big things. Really appreciate your support!

I've been so impressed with the manta that I'm going to flip most of my board and go all out midi.

I want to acquire the Source Audio modulation. am I right to assume that it doesn't really matter which of the three one series mod pedals i get (mercury, gemini, lunar) because I can just reprogram the default switches/program whatever from those 3 that I want to my neuro hub? so let's say I want left switch to be a chorus, middle to be a phaser, right to be a flanger? + recall any available algorithm I want for those three pedals at any time using the hub and a midi pedal like the soleman? I was just going to get the cheapest one of the three I can find used

same would apply to aftershock/la lady/kingmaster fuzz also, right? I believe I understand that the vertigo trem is exclusive.

I run all my SA pedals through the SA HUB and have multiple scenes saved which I access with the Midi Mouse. It has completely changed my live sound and given me versatility that I scarcely imagined before. I highly recommend midi. I only wish I had gotten into it sooner.

As for the modulation, I've got Gemini Chorus and Mercury Flanger settings saved on my Luna Phaser (and LA Lady settings saved on my Aftershock). The Neuro App will blow you away if take advantage of all it can do.

Your understanding is correct! Glad you like Manta!

Source Audio pushed me into midi. I sold a bass and picked up more midi pedals and a boss es-8. Every pedal should have midi. It expands the use of the pedal and your sound so much. No more bending over and turning knobs. I just hit a button.

Couldn't agree with this more. I only ever buy two types of pedals: Ones with midi, or ones that I plan on using a single setting on and never touching the knobs.

maybe I went a little insane? I now have a kingmaker, mercury, nemesis, ventris, and a hub coming. just need a soleman and I'm going to be really cooking up some awesome tone without the bending over, settings memorization, tap dancing, etc

the chain will be:
empress compressor > 3leaf octavbre mk2 > SA manta > EHX pitch fork > SA Kingmaker > hotone krush > SA mercury > SA nemesis > SA ventris > TCE spark mini booster > Two notes Le Bass preamp > TC Ditto > amp

powered by a walrus phoenix supply

it's going to take me ages to figure out my scenes and I may be going all in too quick but I'm pretty sure I found a really great setup for my needs

ps: where's the Source Audio one series pitch shifter so I can dump the pitch fork?

I'm leaning towards the Tech21 Midi Mongoose. I like the idea of having 5 presets available In front of me in different banks and it's cheaper than the soleman. I only really want to change scenes, not too interested in the fancy panel mode stuff that the soleman is capable of. anyone try this switcher?

First off, big fan of your work. Really forward thinking and of course great sounding pedals.
There's a function on the aftershock that im told is not working correctly. I'd inquired about a year ago though I think the ventris meant you guys had your hands full;)

In the manual, under "MIDI Learn" it describes how to assign a midi cc to a knob or the on/off footswitch or the effect selector switch. It is this last option, the effect selector switch, that I would like to utilise but I was told it is not working in the current firmware. I believe it was broken in the firmware update.
Is there any chance to revive this feature?
Thanks

It is natural that they update the Manta and Multiwave in the 1series format and SA has confirmed as much in this thread.

Invalid Link Removed has some information about the filter pedal. Perhaps @rsmith601 can give TB an update about the filter pedal?
It is on the back burner at the moment. 2 pedals are ahead of it.
Lots of updates to editor coming too: likes and publishing
