Using the Neuro hub gives you 128 presets, per pedal. I control all my top row SA pedals with a Soleman and the amount of diversity and flexibility this setup gives me is off the charts since I can access all my presets in any combination with single stomps on the Soleman. I mix and match other things into my setup (I have a significant fuzzrocious addiction) but my SA ecosystem makes up the backbone of my sound...both live and studio.

Quick semi-noob question here, forgive me. I’ve used the Hub before with Soundblox 2 pedals and everything has worked flawlessly. I’ve had a change up with my board and sold all of those pedals and have now come back to having a Hub to use with my Nemesis (and Ventris that’s on the way).
I’ve also got to travel this week like many of you and need to have this issue fixed ASAP before I take this gear on the road. I’ve searched Youtube, here, the SA website/manuals, and Google for the answer to no avail, hence me asking a question that’s clearly been answered before (again, sorry!).
I can’t get my Nemesis to respond to the Hub at all. Both it and the Nemesis have the latest firmware, and I’m using a Boss ES-8 to send program changes via MIDI. The hub is receiving my program changes (the led is lighting up), but I can’t get it to talk to the Nemesis no matter what I try. Different cables, different control outputs on the Hub, the control input LED on the Nemesis both on and off, everything I know to try. What the heck am I doing wrong?
My goal is to have the Hub do everything it can including sending expression controls, program changes, etc to all of my SA pedals (soon to be Aftershock, Manta, Nemesis, and Ventris), and let the ES-8 control the loops going on and off and sending MIDI clock.
Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated, and again (and again) sorry for such an intro question. Normally I can figure out SA stuff instantaneously because it’s so well thought out, but this one has me stumped.

I believe that when I tried to do both the Hub and 5-Pin MIDI that caused problems. When you say you are using the ES-8 along with the Hub, how are you wired? If they are both separately feeding into the Nemesis (on the Hub port and the 5-Pin connections), I think that could cause problems. If the Boss is going into the Hub, well, the Hub has limits as far as what it will take in. It doesn't like Boss units (it didn't like my SY-300) and basically it can get overwhelmed with various things.
Agreed ... best to keep the 5-pin and Hub paths separate, and also put the Hub last in a chain and if possible send its commands first.
I ended up using a MIDI splitter to help sort out some issues but it sounds like you may have a MIDI PC problem. I’m not in front of my setup but seem to recall that the ES5/8 PC1 corresponds to PC0 on the hub - possibly the other way around.
As far as the Splitter I used a MIDI Solutions Quattro thru and have been really happy.

Thanks for all of your replies. I’m running ES-8 > Hub (via MIDI) > Nemesis (via 1/8” TRRS). Basically exactly the same as if you were using a PC controller like a One Control. I want my ES-8 to send MIDI control to the Hub, and the the Hub run all my SA functions, if possible (midi clock, tap tempo, expression, etc). The ES-8 will then only control the PC changes and turning the loops on and off, sending no MIDI data to any of the SA stuff (not even having MIDI cables connecting to any of them other than the Hub).
I can get the Hub to blink that it is receiving program changes. I cannot get the Nemesis to receive anything from the Hub at all (ES-8 or not).
How do I check that the Nemesis is receiving data from the Hub?

Maybe try setting the Hub to MIDI Thru and then connect the Nemesis via 5-Pin MIDI and see what happens?
Gotcha. That will confirm that MIDi is working properly (it has thus far with the Nemesis receiving MIDI straight from the MIDi out of the ES-8. I just hope the Hub can use the control inputs. They are a huge factor in how I want to run this system!

So in your original arrangement you are intending for the Hub to output it's own MIDI but nothing to pass thru? Because the Hub does not "merge."
Ok, here’s where I’m beginning to learn a lot.
Am I incorrect in assuming that the Hub can receive MIDI data other than program changes (such as MIDI clock) and output that data through the 5 control outputs of the Hub? I.e. do I have to have MIDI cables running into my Ventris and Nemesis if I want them to constantly receive MIDI clock from my ES-8?
If that statement is, in fact, the truth, how would one go about sending MIDI clock to a pedal such as the Manta to control its LFO?

When I brought it up, I wasn't totally sure of the answer myself. Here's what I do know. The Hub doesn't "merge" on its 5-Pin MIDI ports. You can either do "Thru" or "Output." For the TRRS ports, I'm not entirely sure how it works. There is no way it does a full MIDI merge - SA has previously said it won't and that's off the table (the Reflex does merging, but with some severe limitations). I don't think it just passes everything through from 5-Pin to TRRS, but I really don't know exactly what it does.
Honestly, my solution would be that unless it's SUPER IMPORTANT for you to have the Nemesis as part of a Hub scene (and given that you have an ES-8, I don't see why this would be the case, because you can effectively make a virtual scene there), I would just do some sort of splitting and put the Nemesis on a 5-Pin connection and disconnect it from the Hub. If you don't have a splitting option, you could even put the Nemesis before the Hub in your 5-Pin chain.
Awesome info. I don’t mind linking up MIDI for clock and stuff of that sort, but I fell in love with the simplicity of saving patches with the Hub. Set your SA pedals, push and hold the button. Glorious. I’m trying to stay away from as much MIDI CC and MIDI controlled patch changing as possible, and let the Hub do as much as it’s able. Scene saving with the Hub is HUGE for me, as half of my board (4 of 8) are SA or will be soon.

Has anyone owned the mxr bass envelope filter and the manta? I have the mxr and it’s fine but I’m thinking of getting a used manta. Had it once before and got rid of it bc I couldn’t mesh with the interface, but I’m tempted again esp with the phaser options. I had the first bef and loved it but it’s just too big. Any thoughts from the SA pros on if I should ditch the mxr and give the manta another shot?
I had the MXR sold it, got the Manta sold it tried many others with no joy. Then i got a BEF loved but realised it takes s bit of time to get it right. But its soooo big so i got a Manta. Spent a bit more time with it and love it. The phaser is great as you say. I find setting the sounds a bit painful compared to the BEF but you can get used to it. Also link it to a pc. The one thing i miss is the eq. Ive added a gemini to the end of my chain and in part i use this dry to add eq after the Manta (using the hub) . You could also use the prog EQ pedal for this. Thats my story. So in short Manta is harder to operar IMO but so versatile it beats any other filter.
When I ordered my MXR, I couldn't wait to get it. Got it and realised there really only was one setting that worked for me. Then I learned about the Manta. Got it, spent quite some time with it, sold the MXR, and am pretty happy with the Manta. Especially now with the hub and midi mouse, I have about 15 different envelope filter sounds that cover all I need. However, I am very curious about the new pedal that's in the works!
