I can’t get my Nemesis to respond to the Hub at all. Both it and the Nemesis have the latest firmware, and I’m using a Boss ES-8 to send program changes via MIDI. The hub is receiving my program changes (the led is lighting up), but I can’t get it to talk to the Nemesis no matter what I try. Different cables, different control outputs on the Hub, the control input LED on the Nemesis both on and off, everything I know to try. What the heck am I doing wrong?

My goal is to have the Hub do everything it can including sending expression controls, program changes, etc to all of my SA pedals (soon to be Aftershock, Manta, Nemesis, and Ventris), and let the ES-8 control the loops going on and off and sending MIDI clock.

Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated, and again (and again) sorry for such an intro question. Normally I can figure out SA stuff instantaneously because it’s so well thought out, but this one has me stumped.

Hi! It sounds like the Nemesis' "Use Control Input for External Switch" Hardware Option is enabled. This will keep it from communicating with the Hub, since it's expecting an external switch. Use the Neuro Mobile App or Neuro Desktop Editor to access the Nemesis' Hardware Options Menu, then set "Use Control Input for External Switch" to Off (Neuro Mobile App), or uncheck that box (Neuro Desktop Editor).

Wow! I had used it with a switch before. I will definitely check this when I get home.

Spent a bit more time with it and love it. The phaser is great as you say. I find setting the sounds a bit painful compared to the BEF but you can get used to it. Also link it to a pc. The one thing i miss is the eq. Ive added a gemini to the end of my chain and in part i use this dry to add eq after the Manta (using the hub) . You could also use the prog EQ pedal for this. Thats my story. So in short Manta is harder to operar IMO but so versatile it beats any other filter.

Got it, spent quite some time with it, sold the MXR, and am pretty happy with the Manta. Especially now with the hub and midi mouse, I have about 15 different envelope filter sounds that cover all I need. However, I am very curious about the new pedal that's in the works! :)

I am using Extended Mode, and in there I have a setting for all the Low Pass filters, the Peak and Band Pass Filter (which the MXR was I think) and a couple of the Multi Peak. The way I went about it was to select a mode and then press-held Option Select which then loads the Factory Default for the respective filter, and then I fine-tweaked the frequency, resonance and drive, but also the depth. I use the Manta with an Aftershock before it, so I sometimes have two scenes with the same Manta filter but different drive or distortion in front. With the Hub Manager you can tweak all the parameters without having to tediously use the hardware adjusters. Right now I am not sure if you can share settings/presets as you would be able to with the Neuro App and One Series pedals.

All that said, the above filters are only for the more traditional funky sounds. I also have some scenes with the more synthy filters, which the Manta has tons of options for.

Thanks for this! I’m def looking for more of the traditional filter sound. I need to look into the hub. I actually have an ofd i could use with it.

I’m in the implementation process of Manta, OFD, Orbital Modulator and Hub. Soleman as controller. Planning on 2 smallish boards. 1 with the hub and pedals on a long insert cable back by my amp. Soleman, tuner, wireless and BassBone at my feet.

We’ll see how this works out...

The synth pedal being described above sure sounds interesting, an SB2 format or 1 series format Octaver is something I would buy today - it wouldn’t really have to do a ton. Octave up/down, maybe some light eq ability on the wet side - it’s the integration aspect that would make it most useful to SA users IMO.

Might be too much gear for me. I’m trying to pare down. No offense to anyone taking the plunge because it sounds very cool. My problem with the manta last time was that i gave up on it because I felt like i wasn’t taking full advantage. This time around I’m just going to try to program in a really good old school wet envelope like I have in my 1st gen sa bef and a really good Leslie-ish phaser. Once I get that as my baseline I’ll think about going further.

Used the Manta with my band last night and feel like I really have the hang of it this time around. Last time, I was trying to do too much with it and couldn't figure out what I wanted. This time around, I went in with the goal of just getting a phaser and envelope sound I wanted and nothing else. Fiddled at home till had the two good, basic sounds, and then did some correction when playing with others. Really limited myself and didn't try to do it all and that helped me to get what I needed.

I was surprised that I really liked the phased to be an envelope phaser... didn't expect that. Actually used that way more than the envelope.

Cool! Glad you got there. For me zeroing out the pedal and trying a couple of the recommended patches was the key...

Anyone use the programmable EQ, Manta, hub and midi controller to make patch changes to both pedals simultaneously ? You would have to use the hub’s midi through to talk to the eq while the hub talks directly to the Manta. I’m going to play with that this weekend. Wondering how the midi patch is setup. I have the Soleman controller.

Hi there, I have an odd problem with creating scenes for my Nemesis through the hub and hub manager. I dialed in a delay with the compound shifter with a minor second interval. Works all well, but when I "save and close" the Nemesis parameter editor to get back to the scene viewer, the minor second is changed to unison again. I tried this several times, also burning it to the internal memory of the pedal itself before "save and close". All my firmwares are up to date. Any takers?
