I'd like to know that too, although I imagine one option is to use one of the 128 presets as a blank-but-engaged preset.

Well, yes. If you think about it, the C4 is in bypass, so the loop is still active. Right? I think this needs to go in the manual......

Looks like might need to listen to lots of demos of c4 now to see what can get out of it...

It is interesting to see how much reverb and delay gets used in some synth demos. I hope that those doing C4 video demos will keep it mostly isolated so one can hear the basic sounds clearly.

This does sound like a good workaround thank you @Adamixoye
Apparently another bonus you get with the C4 over the SY-1 is direct support from the designers of the unit when you need help channeling your creativity.

So you are saying wouldn't need a "blank preset" because the routing still goes through the "loop" pedal, correct? The C4 could be disengaged and it would still route the signal through the other pedal?

The bass guitar signal goes from input 1 to output 2 and the only thing that happens is the envelope detection. Output 2 goes to your loop. The end of the loop goes to input 2. The input 2 path goes into the filter and then to output 1. Yes, you can have this as a preset and then do other things with other presets. The only reason we did not spell this out is the assumption that you all have the tools now to make your own loops as you want and we do not need to do it for you as we did in the other pedals.

So if you'll indulge me because you haven't said it in quite these words, if the pedal is off (bypass) this still works, right? In a bypassed state Input 1 --> Output 1 and Input 2 --> Output 2 and if you have it wired so that Output 1 --> other pedals --> Input 2 the signal passes through those other pedals, and you'll still get a signal through the whole system, correct?

Nathan and I drew this up on the white board the other day and agreed that it would keep the loop active in bypass. He then tested it to confirm.

This pedal has been rocking for me so far. I’ve only yet used the default presets so far, but once I’m done with my other demo work and get more acquainted with this on, I’ll dive in and get a video out ASAP.

Notes so far. Audio quality is freaking amazing! Like it doesn’t sound like a cheesy synth pedal sort of sound, but really sounds like sounds I would get from my Novation Bass Station.

Tracking is amazing as well. Usually my Warwick for whatever reason tracks pedals like this really badly. But I’ve had no issue with it so far. Some presets seem like there’s latency there but I don’t know if that’s an intentional part of the sound for that preset or what, because the other settings track perfectly and instantly.

I’m really excited to jump into the app and find some user presets.

When you get a chance, check the attack setting of the envelope on these particular sounds. I bet that is the issue.

Note that there is amplitude envelope control over each voice. It's currently less than perfectly clear in the manual. There are 2 envelopes, and they can be tapped for use in the voices for amplitude and in the filters for .......well.......funky goodness!!

BE AWARE you have to pay attention to the routing method. I was doing this with the c4 set to dual mono inputs.

An update with amod matrix on a “page 2” with all the modulators and destinations on tap would open the possibilities and ease of programming allot. Then the editor could look much more traditional, slim yet featured and ergonomic like the controls of a Moog on “page 1” with all sequencer controls on “page 3.” CodeKnobs did a great job with the Prophet 12 editor which has a somewhat similar architecture but a more traditional panel to navigate.

I got to order mine tomorrow so it doesn’t arrive st home before I do. I am super excited to patch some sounds ASAP!
