I have a couple expression pedals already from other companies using standard 1/4th inch TRS. I'm looking at the soleman, the ES-5 and the neuro hub, and ALL of them have at least one expression pedal input. I'm likely going with the hub and either midi controller, as it seems the easiest way to route midi to both pedals.

My question is, would I plug into the hub or the midi controller with an expression pedal to control the c4 and spectrum? And will any exp with a TRS connection work?

I might answer my own question with some research, but if anybody thinks they can answer this without too much effort because they already know.. I'd appreciate it, as digging through this thread might take some work even with the search feature lol.

Personally, I have the Soleman and the Neuro hub. I plug my expression pedal into the Soleman and let the Soleman convert it to MIDI and send it on whatever channel needed for the pedal I want to control. That gives me flexibility to control non-SA MIDI pedals. I haven’t had any latency issues with this setup. If you’re only using SA MIDI pedals, then going directly to the Neuro hub would be fine too. It really depends on if you want to do your programming in the hub scenes or in the Soleman editor.

Output2 goes to the input of the looped pedal, input 2 goes to output of looped pedal.

What is the advantage and what are you hoping to achieve with putting something in the C4's loop?

SA doesn't have a community forum, so you could try posting in the Source Audio C4 thread. I'm sure someone there would be happy to give it a whack, including myself (screen shot below, most of my sounds are cover song patches!). :cool:

Just keep in mind that some songs simply might not be able to be replicated on a bass/pedal based synth vs. an actual keyboard synthesizer, so it might be "this is as close as it can get."

The pedal doesn't talk to the phone app, so the only way to see what sound is in what spot is to connect your C4 to the Neuro Desktop editor. You'll see a window that will look like this, and it'll have the list of patch names and where they're saved on your pedal. (pg36 in the manual)

Preset mode is a global setting... Click the gear icon under "C4 Synth" when you have the C4 connected to the Neuro Desktop, you'll find settings there. :thumbsup: (pg22 in the manual)

Just keep in mind that you basically have the tools in the C4 to build your own loops. It's not a routing option like on our other pedals. Very flexible. Nathan created a preset that you can copy. I don't have it handy. I will look.

Hey Guys !
I used to have an RME soundcard ... (lot of regrets here)
What do you think about a tool, like tuner, compressor, EQ, amp-cab sim, USB port and DI that let us reamping drums, synth, guitar, bass and other stuff from a PC to SA eco-system pedals ?
A full acces to Hub and Soleman control routing for live perf (expansion jack lets me dreaming again), may be also a useful desktop interface ?

C4, AF, Mercury, Hub, Soleman and Hot Hand are in my pedlboard now. Collider is in the way, (i'm waiting to sell my forth bass)

Now, I must spending lot of time programming drums, and make some harmony-ambient sounds with guitar-synth

So I'm looking for a tool to optimize my SA pedals ! And my budget also...

But may for this... may be I can find some pennies in my pocket ! :)

Pls forgive me if this appears lazy (convincing argument could be made...) but IMO it's just more like being overwhelmed...
Trying to find a C4 preset that resembles the low bass synth sound as found in the intro to Eurythmics 'Here Comes The Rain Again.'

Doesn't need to be exact - this isn't a tribute band, or even an 80s band. It's just a song on the setlist for a holiday party gig coming up and I'd like to find something evocative of that vibe for a little color.
I've looked through the community presets and haven't stumbled on it yet.
It sounds like it should be fairly simple but so far it exceeds my synth programming skill.
So like Blanche DuBois, I am relying on the kindness of strangers. I'm not asking you to make something for me, or find something for me.
But if you already know of a patch that can get me close, I'd appreciate the pointer.

I'm also posting my problem here, since I just can't seem to figure it out:

Somehow preset switching via my iPhone with a Bluetooth transmitter into the CV doesn't work anymore.
- It works when connecting the Neuro cable directly to the headphone jack (so the Neuro cable and the C4 are okay).
- The Bluetooth transmitter works (tested by connecting it to my stereo and playing some music)

I used to have to back up the volume on the phone like three clicks, but I tested it on all volume levels today and it doesn't work. All that's changed since I last used this successfully was that I updated the C4 firmware, but that can't really be it, can it?

I got this cheap one here, but it worked fine until now.

Only thing that changed is that I updated the C4 firmware, but should that have an influence? Could try down grading just to check (if that's even possible). Would need to find the old firmware, too.

Unpairing, resetting, etc. of all devices yielded nothing.
