Engaging the pedal is where I experience the delay. Any tips to avoid it? Some sort of blank patch, maybe?

Patch with nothing but clean/through happening then toggle between that and your effect? A bit of a pain but doable. Also, remember that if your C4 is reachable you can on/off the pedal itself and it will hold whatever you set the DMC to.

Good tips, thanks! I'm a novice with the C4 and DMC Micro but I'm amazed that they've already replaced a few other pedal on my board!

And as I think more about it, the blank patch idea would be a pain if I'm using more than one effect through the C4 during any one song.

If your DMC works like mine, you can scroll patches without it activated...then turn the pedal on and off at will. That would avoid the brief wait on activation. Otherwise you may wish to look for a controller that allows for instant commands to execute. It's not really a flaw in the DMC as much as fitting so much control on so few buttons has a few compromises.

Similar to what @BurningSkies has been saying, with the Micro you have the option to bypass or engage the C4 from the Micro.

Holding the left switch will either activate or bypass your C4. When it is active, the C4 will turn on and also be turned on any time you switch between presets.

When being bypassed, you can scroll through presets without turning on the C4, and use the C4 itself as the way to activate the effect.

In relation to what you mentioned, there is a slight delay when activating the C4 from the DMC Micro.

This is fresh for me because I just got a response from Disaster Area regarding similar questions. Shout out again to DA for their amazing Customer Support!

I have a goatkeeper but also wondered if you could program similar patterns on the C4.

I totally understand. After I typed that last comment I thought that I may be playing a song with it engaged already, wanting to switch to another patch, which would mean I'd either have to shut it off, scroll to the new preset, then engage. Or I could put the two presets right next to one another. Because there's a good deal of improvisation in the music I play, that might be a limiting factor.

Scrolling through presets with it engaged, in a live situation, might not be that great.

What other pedal could talk to the C4 and be able to recall non-sequential patches?

Does the DMC Micro have a Preset mode? If it does you could use that.

I use the ES-5, but it does both MIDI and bypass-loops. Lots of people using the Morningstar controller with their pedals...

having just rebuilt my entire pedalboard, im still having this obnoxious beep noise while using the fx loop function in the aftershock, ive redone power, midi, routing. no usb cable plugged in, no editor. using a boss ms3 to control a hub with a c4 and an aftershock

Yes the Micro has a preset mode.

I'm assuming that @MarTONEbass has been using the A(device) mode.

Might not be a bad idea to reach out to DA and ask them about your intent and the way to accomplish it. Again, they have been fantastic with helping out the community.

I have the same issue with my C4 and DA Micro. I need to be able to turn the effect on and off instantaneously. So basically I just use the Micro to scroll through presets and still use the footswitch on the C4. Not ideal – partly because I was hoping the Micro would save some pedalboard real estate – but it is what it is. If someone has a better way to use the two of them together, I'd love to hear it.

Is your Micro close to the C4 on your board?

I have my Micro right next to my C4 and use my Micro in bypass mode. With this I use it to switch presets and then step on my C4 to activate. Same distance it would be to click the left switch on the Micro to activate the C4.

You may not have the ability to have your Micro so close to the C4, in which I can understand the issue with needing to use the Micro to activate your C4 and the delay inherent in that.

Yeah, I have the C4 directly above the Micro so it's like having a triangle of foot switches there. With a pedal topper it's not that hard to reach it. It's so great having a bank of crazy sounds right there at your feet.

Have anybody tried to connect a Mooer Expline as an expression pedal to the Nemesis or Ventris ?
The Mooer pedal apperantly needs 9V power to work.
If it works, does it work in both the "pedal in" 1/4" connector (in exp mode ofcause) and the control input in "expression pedal input" mode ?
It should work, just asking because the Mooer appearently needs power to function.
It made me a bit suspicious, that's all.
