Checking in again about the tap tempo behaviour in list mode on the soleman.
I checked that the fourth footswitch is Tap Tempo, which works in scene mode. Weirdly enough, in list mode tapping doesn't send anything. However, while still connected to the editor, when I re-check "Tap Tempo" for the fourth switch, the taps make it to the pedals...
Does everyone experience this?

I should have specified other than the toggle switch.

It looks like an external tap tempo switch will allow you to switch between two presets, but I was hoping for a way to access three without a hub.

You should be able to use a Disaster Area DMC.micro or one of their other devices. They have a video showing how to set it up to scroll through the 128 presets on the C4 Synth pedal. I'm guessing the setup should be similar.

hub is the only way. The tap switch is for controlling the second drive channel. Not switching presets. the dmc can access 128 presets on c4 because we made c4 that way. Aftershock has no midi accessible presets, that’s what the hub is for.

I am able to access the six saved presets my my Aftershock by using a netbook in my setup running Neuro Desktop.

Some players have had luck using the Neuro App on their phones using the provided cable or a Bluetooth receiver but others have had difficulty getting that to work.

You should check what access you can get with the MC6 MKII without a hub, don't ask me I be a luddite about such things, that is one reason for using a laptop.

The Source Audio world can be a little confusing at first. They have a constant flow of updates and some of their older apps are now end of life (the old Hub Manager for instance). The App that sits on your phone, laptop or Mac is called "Neuro Desktop". The hub is called a "Neuro Hub". So if we refer to "neuro" we could be talking about the hub or the editing software for all of the Source Audio gear. The hub allows any SA One Series pedal (all SA gear) to be Midi controllable. If you plug in a Midi controller and set everything up for Midi...then you can store 128 presets on the hub across multiple SA pedals, assuming you plug those devices into the hub.
The Neuro app / desktop however allows you connect to the Neuro hub or directly to each SA pedal via mini USB. It's the software that allows you to deep dive into the pedals and edit all of the functions that you can't from the 4 knob / 3 way switch and button on the back pedal interface. Each SA pedal has a myriad of settings and controls. If you connect your AfterShock into Neuro desktop via USB and save a preset in the first 6 slots...then you are saving your settings on the 1-3 settings on the 3 way switch or 4-6 on the red mode 3 way switch.
The way I run my AfterShock is the have my fav three settings on the 1/2/3 positions and then I use my hub (that also has the same 3 initial presets) to save all the others (I think I'm up to about 23 presets at the moment). I also have a C4 which has a larger memory and can store 128 presets on the device (but can't switch beyond 6 without a midi command). So I use the hub as a Midi sender for my C4 and the Hub's Scenes for my Aftershock. That way I get access to 128 presets on my Aftershock and another 128 presets on my C4. If Source Audio come out with another pedal that I urgently need....then I might need to re-think all this unless the new pedal has 128 local presets aka the C4. My midi controller of choice is a Boss ES-5 that also acts as an intelligent loop switcher.
I have an iphone 5c and an Xr and I can't get the phone app to work on either device....but I dind't try too hard...the Neuro desktop is really good and very clear to use. It's way better than the phone option in my opinon.

I currently have a C4 on my board controlled by an MC6 and a micro.ghost. At the time I got the micro.ghost, the hub did not support the C4 yet.

The C4 is amazing and I bought an AS based off of that experience. If I fall in love with it, I will probably get a hub to replace the micro.ghost.

I know that I'd only want a couple sounds from the AS and was thinking there might be an easier and cheaper way to get access without bending down to change the toggle switch.

Just got a C4 and not having TOO difficult a time diving into it. But before I stumble down the wrong road, thought I'd check in here first. My grand plan, , is to use my phone with the midipro app to control the C4. Thinking I need to load the presets into the C4 that I want to use and then call them up via the phone app. Should be simple, right? Low cost and fingertip control sounds like a winner in my books.

Any better suggestions or workarounds are greatly appreciated and welcomed.A few things I've noticed already, loading presets to your library , the Neuro app defaults back to page one of the community library, which is kind of a pain. Also, some presets from the community library seem to be pretty glitchy as far as getting them to trigger. Thanks in advance for any tips and tricks. Cool little pedal that I think shows a lot of promise.

I've never used MIDIPro so someone else will have to confirm or correct this, but if that app can function as a MIDI host, you should be fine. Otherwise you'll need a MIDI interface such as the Neuro Hub or Micro.Ghost. I went with the Hub because it has an expression pedal in, if that holds any value to you.

The biggest tip for the library presets is that we all have different gear, so some presets will need adjustments for your specific gear/signal chain to get things like triggering and volumes to work right. I even need to do that within my own presets. My Pbass has a MUCH hotter signal than most of my other basses, so I even have to tweak my own sounds a little bit depending on bass choice.

Each bass has different impedance, so their output is different and the way that output affects dirt and filters is vastly different. The input vol is the magic control for triggering C4 community patches. I've seen some really over sensitive patches and some that seem completely dead and unresponsive. It's all in the input vol.

Hope I’m phrasing that correctly, I’m definitely not a midi guru. Basically asking is there somewhere to reference the midi command numbers so I can load those into the midipad app?

Looking at the neuro phone app, maybe I’m just as well off using it to load sounds live. I don’t see myself changing presets much/at all during a tune. For me, the simpler, the better.

Indeed!

Page 42 in the C4 manual has a small reference chart.

So basically, if you want to recall preset #3 and have it be engaged, you would send the C4 MIDI CC #104 with a value of 2. (MIDI values start at 0, so CC 104 with a value of 0 = C4 preset 001, 1 = 002, 2 = 003 and so on)

So, my c4 in arrived in the mail yesterday.. ordered a month ago but it was back ordered.. and the retailer I used is already out of stock.. which, as far as SA goes, puts me up to 3 pedals from SA, Spectrum filter, aftershock, and the c4.

I'm looking into the soleman, and the hub.. although that Boss ES-5 looks really nifty.. but I'm wondering if anybody from memory or experience can answer a question regarding expression pedals for me.

I have a couple expression pedals already from other companies using standard 1/4th inch TRS. I'm looking at the soleman, the ES-5 and the neuro hub, and ALL of them have at least one expression pedal input. I'm likely going with the hub and either midi controller, as it seems the easiest way to route midi to both pedals.

My question is, would I plug into the hub or the midi controller with an expression pedal to control the c4 and spectrum? And will any exp with a TRS connection work?

I might answer my own question with some research, but if anybody thinks they can answer this without too much effort because they already know.. I'd appreciate it, as digging through this thread might take some work even with the search feature lol.

Some expression pedals have the pot slider connected to the tip (T) and some have the slider connected to the ring (R).
Some expression pedals can be used in both ways via a switch or jumpers.

Questions for the sorcerers.
1. I'd love to ask the c4 user community to try to replicate a sound that I haven't nailed yet. Is there a better place to do that than here? I don't want to bother the non-c4 users (or rather, the future-c4-users).
2. This seems like a silly question, but I've burned several community presets onto my C4. Is there a way to see which ones are in which presets? Ideally on the app?
3. Is there a way to set a global setting for something like "Preset/WYSISYG Mode". That is, I always want to be in Preset mode; do I need to define that globally? Is that defined per preset?

Whatever sounds you use you will want to optimize or tune the presets for your bass, playing style and amp and save those changes to your Neuro Preset Library.

*Be sure you understand the section "Three Different Preset Modes" on page 14-15 and have the necessary settings for your preferences **

If you only use a few sounds 3 easiest to load the sounds to the toggle positions, 3 more sounds can be loaded to the alternate bank for a total of 6 sounds accessible w/o a midi switch pedal.

If you are using a of of sounds on the C4 then using a MIDI switcher pedal, the Neuro phone app or Neuro Desktop on a tablet or laptop may be preferable.

Some players have had some success using a Bluetooth receiver to transmit Neuro commands from phone to C4 but others have not had success with that method.

Personally I tried the Neuro Phone App and Bluetooth options and decided to use a netbook that gives me a lot more options for my SA and other devices.
