From memory...the Neuro hub likes to be set to Midi Ch 1. I would have liked to set my Midi channels to match my ES-'s loop numbers....but the Neuro hub likes to be No1....and I've wrtten nearly 70 patches on my ES-5....way too late to make a huge patch and midi change like that now!

I don't recall that it likes to be on Channel 1 specifically; I don't have mine that way. I can say it does like to be earlier in the chain, so that any other devices aren't sending something weird to it. (It used to hate being after my Boss SY-300.)

In either case it is a little odd that this should be an issue, given that I haven't seen this issue with any of my other MIDI devices.

When you're programming your SA pedals in NeuroDesktop, whick kind/brand of usb merger are you using ?

Is the Elektron usb merger a good product for U ? Something else ? Miditech ?

I've got 3 SA pedals and the Soleman + hub, but not enough usb port on my laptop. Is there good way ro access all pedals with one cable ?

This would be great update for SA ecosystem : less cables...

I recall somebody sharing this previously.

@Dmonweb This is the USB hub I am using on my pedal board to connect my desktop and laptop to my SA C4 & Aftershock + Zoom B3. Works everytime.

Would this allow me to control my Spectrum and my Zoom MS60b from my DMC Micro?

I don't think so, wrong connections. You should ask DMC directly how to control both the Zoom MS60B and the SA C4 - their lit states it's possible to control multiple devices with the DMC.micro and both of those are on the list.

Yeah, its a bit random...given it wasn't an issue until I added the AS to the Hub. When I was using just the C4 with the hub as a host + expression with the same setup it was fine.

C4 --> Aftershock --> Mercury. That's what I have at least (with the Lunar instead).

C4 -> AF -> Mercury.

Sometimes i'm looping the output 2 of the Mercury in the Input 2 of the C4.
Needs some routage, sometimes interesting but complex to prog... but interesting.

Hey there sorcerers. I'm on the hunt for options as alternatives to the Disaster Area micro (or any of their great midi controllers) for my C4 Synth, as I am unable to source them living in China. Sad news indeed.

Has anyone had any luck with any other small midi foot controllers and the C4 Synth? Anything you could recommend. All possible options are welcome - in fact the more, the merrier as I will probably have limited options here.

Another option could be that I grab the Soleman but I was wondering if I needed to purchase a Hub also if I only plan on running on Source Audio pedal with it?

Without the hub what you need to look for is a USB host capable midi controller.

The hub is mostly for setting up "scenes" utilizing multiple SA pedals but you could create "scenes" involving the one pedal, which would work kind of like presets. Or - you could send CC messages through the hub to the c4 for switching presets.

I spent a little time googling tonight and the DMC midi controllers are the only footswitches I see actually capable of USB Midi host.

There's the Fishman Tripleplay FC-1 - however it mentions specifically using it for controlling a daw and plugged into a computer rather than using it as a host for other usb midi capable devices. So I have no idea if it would actually work.

The Soleman + hub isn't the worst option in the world by anymeans.. You could set it up to 4 specific presets by default in panel mode, one per footswitch and add a dual footswitch like the Boss FS-6 - or any passive TRS dual footswitch (momentary normally closed, and momentary normally open both work with the soleman) and cycle 64 different panel configurations. A passive dual footswitch honestly isn't that hard or expensive to build as an addition to the Soleman. Or you could just setup hub scenes rather than c4 presets.

Honestly - to Source Audio - that's not a bad idea. An internal chip programmed for midi pc/cc commands in future pedals connected to a 1/8th trs input that allows for cycling presets with a passive dual footswitch similar to how adding one to the Soleman functions would probably open some doors for people interested in a single Source Audio pedal. - not sure if I posted something similar in this thread already or not.

I mean I'm beyond that point personally, with 3 SA branded pedals, the hub, and the Soleman. But it certainly would make things easier for people just dipping their toes in the water.. they're a lot less expensive than midi controllers, especially if you buy parts and build it yourself.

Food for thought anyway.

As mentioned above, the Disaster controllers are some of the only ones that seem to offer direct control of the Source pedals using the USB jack. Other MIDI controllers will require either the Source Audio Neuro Hub to control via the control port or a USB Host hub (like the Disaster Ghost hub) to control via the USB in between pedal and the controller. Of course this in-between hub sort of negates the small size of any other controller (though the hub can be mounted underneath a pedalboard). As far as controllers, the Morningstar MC6 or MC8 are probably the most powerful relatively-compact MIDI controllers around these days and they are based out of Singapore (so I assume are more accessible for you!).

There's a bunch of USB-MIDI-host boxes out there. Pretty much any of those (or a Hub) and you can opt for whatever pedal controller works and is available in your country, I believe.

According to the Source audio website, the Soleman has 2 MIDI out ports.
Why can't you use them directly to the SA pedals that have 5-pin DIN MIDI in ???

I hate to even ask this early on, but any hope of a C4 with added onboard DIN midi connections?

I'm wondering if the Spectrum intelligent Filter would be a better 1st pedal of the pair to demo. Then a 2nd demo could show case the C4's synth facilities with out the burden of talking about the extensive octave and filter options. The C4 is a colossal pedal in terms of feature.

So my AS and Mercury are in house and hooked up in with my C4. So far C4 => AS => Mercury. Soleman => C4 via USB and to Neuro Hub via Midi. All 3 pedals are hooked to the Hub using the trrs cables.

I need a powered USB hub and cables to edit scenes using all 3. Wired as computer usb to hub, hub usb to each pedal. Did I get that correct ? What is the official name of the pedal side usb connector ? mini? micro ?

I love standards... I have mine, they have theirs...
For those of you who remember RS-232 ... I suspect RS stood for Recommended, Suggested...

I am finally, completely out of space on this board. Gotta get something bigger that will still fit small stages. Thinking of something 2 layer putting the extra large power supply (Ciock dc-10) and hub underneath, pedals on top and Soleman, Tuner and Bassbone on exposed first layer. The hunt continues. Without spending an arm and a leg, any suggestions for a COTS product ? I may build anyway as I'd love it to be able to straddle one leg of a tripod mic stand - handy on some of the small stages / spaces I get to play in...
