I currently have both my AS and C4 wired to a SA Neurohub then have that USB-to computer...Though I don't do 'scenes' like that, I use the hub for the AS and program the C4 by itself. Also, I've found you can run individual USB cables from C4 and the Hub and have the desktop software recognize both.

I’m not personally familiar with the capabilities of each, but I would guess that utilizing both to control the C4 is probably redundant in most circumstances. I actually didn’t realize that the Soleman could be setup as a USB MIDI Host like that either (I thought it requires the Hub to work with the C4)

So my AS and Mercury are in house and hooked up in with my C4. So far C4 => AS => Mercury. Soleman => C4 via USB and to Neuro Hub via Midi. All 3 pedals are hooked to the Hub using the trrs cables.

I need a powered USB hub and cables to edit scenes using all 3. Wired as computer usb to hub, hub usb to each pedal. Did I get that correct ? What is the official name of the pedal side usb connector ? mini? micro ?

I love standards... I have mine, they have theirs...
For those of you who remember RS-232 ... I suspect RS stood for Recommended, Suggested...

I am finally, completely out of space on this board. Gotta get something bigger that will still fit small stages. Thinking of something 2 layer putting the extra large power supply (Ciock dc-10) and hub underneath, pedals on top and Soleman, Tuner and Bassbone on exposed first layer. The hunt continues. Without spending an arm and a leg, any suggestions for a COTS product ? I may build anyway as I'd love it to be able to straddle one leg of a tripod mic stand - handy on some of the small stages / spaces I get to play in...

I'm pretty sure it's a Mini-B type connector for the pedals and the soleman. Probably a good idea to leave the hub on top so you can save scenes should you adjust things on the fly. Like say you decide you want more dry in the mix, so you adjust the mix knob.. then hold save scene on the hub.

It's been a while since I had time to dive in deep. I may be mistaken ... I'll make a deep dive shortly.

it’s not, you need a host device with soleman, can’t connect directly.

I also have Soleman, Hub, As and C4. I just use scenes in panel mode.. I really like the ability to tweek and save. Also have an FI which and Prog EQ which are direct from Soleman.

I've always had the Aftershock on my radar. However, I'd never really had one. Until now. It replaced the black Big Muff (I love it, but it's too big) and will probably make the EBS Multidrive to go away too. This unit is just amazing, and I'm just messing around with the factory presets!

I have one question. The manual says I shouldn't run the aftershock below 180mA. My powerplant has one 9V 500mA out. Is it ok? Or is it too much 500? I had some issues with some pedals in the past. So far, no issue with the Aftershock, but I ask just in case

500ma at 9v is fine.
Above 9v can cause damage.
Less than 180ma or less than 9v and it might not work right.

So, I'm a recent convert to SA pedals. I now have Spectrum, C4, and AfterShock. I like how the C4 can do everything the Spectrum can do but have both on the board as I am not using MIDI and have the presets I use spread out over the 6 slots on each pedal. I'm looking at simplifying things and am guessing that if I get the Soleman and the Hub I'll be able to set up whatever presets/scenes I want with the AS and C4 and be able to move the Spectrum off and also be able to access all 6 presets on the AS? Not having the Soleman and Hub yet means I haven't had a chance to check that out yet. Please let me know if I'm on the right track here. I haven't used MIDI in years - not since the late 90's early 00's when I had an ADA MB-1 and Lexicon MP500 - so I have a clue, I just need to be directed properly, lol. TIA

Yes you could ditch the spectrum, unless you use the 2 simultaneously for different sounds. You would have access to 128 scenes (multipedal presets) and in the case of the c4 (or spectrum) be able to access all 128 presets on it using cc103 (recall bypassed) or cc104 (recall active) followed by a value for the preset you want. Aftershock cannot do this, as it’s an older pedal and we did not yet realize that people would want more than 6 presets or to be able to access them without using hub memory.

You can access all six from the pedal without the hub. The hub cannot directly access the presets in the pedal, but you can load those presets on the aftershock, then save them to the hub, then you can access them.

I may be missing something as I have only been able to access 3 presets unless I am hooked up to the Neuro app.

There's a button on the back of the pedal near the 1/8th TRRS jack called the "alt" button, press that and then move the 3 position switch. On your c4 and spectrum intelligent filter, the alt button also pretty much turns your 4 knobs per pedal to 8 knobs per pedal.

Having the 3 pedals you do the neuro hub and a midi controller would allow you to do a lot more than 6.

- I'd start reading the manuals and the quickstart guides that come with the pedals or that can be downloaded from Source Audio, as there is somewhat of a learning curve.
