He could assign the Hub and the Aftershock to the same MIDI channel - would this get around the 3 device limit of the DMC? After all, the Hub only responds to MIDI PC (though it passes all messages) and the Aftershock will only respond to MIDI CCs.

The hub and Collider are new additions to the mix. Also, I recently swapped the C4 in place of a Spectrum.

My basic goals right now are:
  1. to be able to load presets to any of the SA pedals from the desktop app via a single point of connection, so to speak
  2. Save scenes on the hub
  3. Recall saved scenes using the DMC.micro
I suppose the first question is: Are these reasonable expectations? If so, where do I want the laptop to interface in the system? And what is the best way to connect the controller to the hub?

Prior to the Hub, I used the desktop app to load Spectrum/C4 presets to the envelope filter pedal. Then I could use the DMC.micro to switch between presets. So I understand the direct to pedal programming, but not the optimal Laptop-to-hub-to-pedals approach.

In a perfect world, I’d like to not have to constantly plug and unplug the laptop and the controller. Right now, I am using a micro USB between the controller and the hub—just because that’s how I used to control individual pedals.

If I change the controller-to-hub cable to a midi connection, can I dedicate the micro USB input to my laptop?

After watching some keys synth demos on Youtube, I started exploring adding effects after the C4 (not in the effects loop). Got my Subdivisions patch finally nailed down... well, as close as I think it's going to get without actual keys synth hardware. I used the same patch for both the low and high parts. The first Subdivisions audio sample is "dry" (C4 only) and the second one is going into chorus and reverb in my HX Stomp.

The Nuno Synth patch started out as just for fun while exploring adding delay after, but I've really started to like that patch a LOT.

EDIT: I also added a patch for the intro to Canned Heat from Jamiroquai that I play with a cover band. Use C1: Envelope speed and C2: Filter Frequency for a wide variety of sounds!

All three base C4 patches are available on the Neuro Community, make sure to add chorus, reverb and/or delay after to spice things up! :thumbsup:

I had an idea for a nifty trick today and it works (but not quite as I expected, but equally well).

I run pedals in the loop of the C4/Spectrum and have a custom patch (which is on neuro) which allows the use of the pedals in the loop with no other effects applied. (C4 doesn’t allow the loop contents to be audible when it is bypassed so that’s why a dedicated patch is required.)

Now, (if switched on in the hardware options) a long press of the foot switch will toggle between red and green banks. So my idea was to have this patch on preset 6 (leaving the toggle switch set to the right) so that a long press from any other patch would jump me straight to preset 6.

What I found is that if you are on presets 7-127 then a long press will always take you back to the green bank. (This wasn’t the behaviour I excepted as 7-127 have a green light.) No biggie though, I can just put my bypass loop preset on preset 3 instead then no matter where I am, a long press will turn my loop on.

This is pretty useful for anyone using a simple up/down preset switcher which doesn’t allow one to jump to a particular patch on command.

Basically, if you are on any preset from 4-127 then a long press will take you straight to preset 1, 2 or 3 (depending) on what position the toggle switch is set at. Could be really useful if you need to quickly jump to one of three favourite patches from anywhere else.

Guessing this might work on other SA pedals that have internal presets too.

edit - I’ve spotted a bug with this which I’ve just reported to Jesse. There are certain instances where presets 3 and 6 don’t switch bank when long pressed.

Actually the bug is on presets 1-6 but only after a particular order of events. I can reproduce it consistently so it should hopefully get fixed.

Finally nerded out on the DMC.micro manual and the pedal inputs. The C4 does not have Midi Input/Output. Per the most recent DMC manual (that I could find), I can assign this to Dev A and control it using the USB mini cable. The Hub and Collider both have midi cable in/out, so I should be able to control these using a typical midi daisy chain. I just ordered those 90° midi cables.

I'll try to get the DMC.micro to talk to the Aftershock via the Hub channel. If not, my dirt needs are relatively modest. I bet can live with the six presets on the device, augmented by the Hub scene capabilities.

If I give this a college try w/ the gear in hand and need additional functionality, I'll consider some different controller options. Appreciate all of the insights, suggestions, and tips.

question on the Aftershock, but it's really any pedal using that platform. Is there a way I can have two engines running at once (one on L and one on R) and use the toggle switch to control 4 parameters on each. Example:

Fuzz on L
Distortion on R
Both on when the pedal is engaged
and then adjust the parameters of the distortion on the distortion setting of the toggle switch, and the fuzz on the fuzz setting of the toggle switch.

Or, failing that, could I assign a 2-and-2 setup where 2 knobs control 2 parameters of the fuzz and 2 knobs control 2 parameters of the distortion?
