Yeah I was kinda thinking the price looked off too. And the fact that the Manta was also listed. Worth double checking though!

Correct. We have some new ones left in stock just in case they were needed for repairs, but its time to let them go. They are classics! :)

I am looking for some help with my midi setup. I am unable to get my C4 to respond to expression pedal input via my neuro hub.

Here is my setup:

Expression pedal -> Morningstar MC-8 -> Neuro Hub -> C4

Configuration:

Morningstar (Bank 1):
Exp 1: Msg 1: Expression CC: CC # 100: CC Min 0: CC Max 127: Midi Chan 14

Neuro Hub (Midi chan 14):
C4 connected to channel 1
C4:
CC 100: Remote Expression
External Control On
Remote Expression -> Mix; min 0, max 100


When I move the expression pedal, I can see the recall light glow on the neuro hub. So I think it's getting the midi messages. But the C4 does not respond. What am I missing?

Expression messages only work on the bank(s) to which they are programmed; they aren’t global.

You also need to set the MIDI channel of the expression to the C4’s channel, not the Hub’s channel. Set the expression message to channel 1 and it should work. Also, it’s fine to set the C4 and Hub to the same channel.

I am a little confused by this. So the hub channel for the connected device is the midi channel for the device?

If I understand you correctly, the midi channel for the Hub is only for sending PC messages. When sending CC messages, I should use the channel number of the device connected to the neuro hub?

the Hub channels are basically the MIDI channel(s) of the connected device(s).

The Hub passes on messages from all channels, but itself will only react to messages programmed to its own channel.

C4 does not have to be on channel 1 (mine is on 2, as is my Hub).

your last paragraph is correct.

Also, there is nothing in the Neuro Hub documentation about the hub channels being midi channels. I thought the hub passes the CC messages onto the connected devices. The device configurations would determine what CC messages it wanted to apply based on the Midi mapping and how it is to be used based on the patch config.

Source Audio needs to make that more explicit in their documentation. I now have to re-assign midi channels.

Yes, the Hub passes on all messages except PC. Connected devices react only to the messages that are programmed to their MIDI channel. (If you note, the SA MIDI maps don’t contain channel information.)

Allow me to beat this poor horse one more time: Since you can set the device channel for each hub connected device in the Neuro app, the midi channel can be different from the hub port the device is connected to. (Yeah!)

Now a question:

If I configure a patch using say the C4, and the Collider, and I then later change the hub port to which these devices are connected, will the patch still work? In other words does it matter what hub port the device is connected to once you create a patch?

The hub port number (1-5) is irrelevant. Only the channel number (1-16) is important. The channel assignment is stored within the individual pedals not the Hub so you can plug the pedals into whatever hub port you like and it won’t affect anything.
