Just ordered a Soleman! So a quick question, can the USB out of the Soleman send MIDI to the Ultrawave (I’m assuming yes)?

No. Hub is needed. The USB is only an input to the Soleman. There is a PC editor that you can use with Soleman.

Ah ok no worries, thanks for the quick response! I was hoping I could use one less hub output. I’m close to filling them all up, especially if I get an EQ2 . I may have to add another hub to the mix too haha!

Playing around with my new Spectrum Intelligent Filter and loving it. I’m wondering if anyone has made any presets based on a Guyatone BR2 (bottom wah rocker) a la Justin Chancellor or Juan Alderete?

I’m wondering if the BR-2 circuit is based on a Mu-tron style filter or maybe something else? I am admittedly no expert with filter technology - just looking for that awesome Justin Chancellor style squelchiness from Rosetta Stoned/Jambi. The Preset “Son of a BullFrog” is getting close to my ear but not quite there.

use the 5 pin din connection for the EQ2 ... that worked better for me and my hub was not close to full.

I'm wading through this thread, but can someone confirm that if I want to use a Disaster Areas midi device with my Spectrum, the DMC Micro will just work? I don't need the ghost adapter?

you need the ghost adapter cable otherwise the standard usb cable won’t fit.

You don’t specifically need the DMC ghost cable, but something that does similar (goes between micro and mini USB connectors). I’d actually recommend looking at up/down-angle USB adapter cables as I find the straight USB cables out of the two pedals to be quite precarious and they make the two pedals much bigger space-hogs on a pedalboard than necessary. I found adaptors for my C4/DMC combo on EBay after my DMC ghost cable fell apart due to strain on a tight pedalboard. The up/down-angle cables allow you to route the cables down underneath a pedalboard and take up much less footprint!

Thanks for the advice! I’m thinking it might be time to get a disaster area small midi controller of some sort. Been shrinking down my pedalboard and have taken advantage of multiple spectrum settings but still flick back and forth with the switch.

I searched and here are the cables I got (actually from Amazon): CY 2pcs GPS Mini USB 5P 90 Degree Up Down Angled Male to Mini USB 5Pin Female Extension Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015PRGS0...abc_ND454FEQFHX5X5Z12Q76?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
You need one “up-angle” and one “down-angle” because the Spectrum and DMC device plugs are oriented opposite from each other.

You’ll also need a Mini-B 5-pin to Mini-B 5-pin USB to go between the two adapters (I use this one, you can choose the length you need: 3ft CablesOnline USB 2.0 Mini-B 5-Pin to Mini-B 5-Pin Male/Male Cable, USB2-5503 30955274713 | eBay ). I use a Pedaltrain board and this combo takes up about as much room as a right-angle pancake-style 1/4” patch cable vs the straight DMC ghost cable which takes up similar space on both ends ads straight 1/4” patch cable! You can also get right or left-angle USB cables in case you have a solid pedalboard which should still save space (just have to ensure you aren’t blocking other connections on each end with the cable you choose)

I think there’s an option for a tap tempo switch plugged into the control input port to scroll presets, though that may only be on other SA pedals.

You can definitely set up a mode where a long press of the onboard footswitch toggles between 1-3 and 4-6, i.e. red and green banks.
