Ultrawave question: TL;DR What would your most commonly used sounds with this pedal for eclectic bass-in-your-face rock music?
My new group (guitar, bass, drums, vocals) so far has parts that range from sounding like Helmet, Primus, Sufjan Stevens, Tom Waits, and I dont know what else…All three of us have extremely wide ranging musical tastes. E.g. members have formerly been in accordion or banjo horror folk bands, ska, metal, americana, bluegrass, orchestra, jazz….And Ive returned to bass after a long hiatus on various other instruments. Last time I mained bass, there weren't many effects options tailored to it.
So this pedal similarly has so many options I am not sure where to start. We have been writing/arranging things so far with pretty prominent bass parts, which works well for the guitar player who enjoys and excels at leadish and very heavy sometimes atmospheric pedal effected parts. So I have thus far been pretty happy to just have a good overdrive and distortion that keep the lows intact, so he can not worry about keeping up a chord/riff foundation.
I feel like it would be good to come up with some other starter presets for the other 4 slots that I can more easily use on the fly as we write together. But not sure which to prioritize…I have a nice folded one, octave, but those seem like Id use less often.
Anyway, would just love to hear your subjective ideas.
