I have one. I admit I primarily bought it due to being a heavy user of ZIO so I may not be the best to recommend it :D but I do find in Studio mode it makes a noticeable improvement when I run my bass in passive. I normally run it active though (Darkglass Tone Capsule preamp) and the ZIO makes less of a difference. I suspect Darkglass also does a tiny bit of mid scoop like the Studio mode does. I’m currently running a Quad Cortex capture of it, and I do prefer it on rather than off. Hard to recommend for the price.

For me I think it would do double duty for front end on guitar and bass, so maybe a little more well utilized than on bass alone.

As a bass player, the EQ2 or Darkglass Harmonic Booster would get my recommendation over the ZIO. I can’t give an opinion as a guitar player though, as I don’t play :D I imagine it’s more effective with guitar.

If the ZIO had some kind of “Character” knob to dial in more or less of each preamp flavour I might be more willing to recommend it. For my use, it’s just too subtle. I am going to keep it though, as I do like it.

Hello all,
I am using the C4 and ultra wave through the neuro hub to be controlled by a midi controller (pirate midi's bridge 6 - similar to the MC6). I have each pedal set up on different channels, done via the neuro desktop editor. I primarily want to use the midi controller to be able to scroll through presets (up CC 106/down 107) and bypass/engage (102) the unit. I've used the CC messages in the manuals to program these, however I am not getting any response from either SA pedal. Pedals and hub are updated. The controller is also controlling a few other pedals, each on their own channel, and they're all working flawlessly. Is there a step I am missing or any idea on how to troubleshoot this? Thanks.

What kind of cable are you using to connect the Bridge 6 to the Neuro Hub? Are you using the DIN5 or the Flexiports?

@Derek Williams I currently have DIN5 cables out of the bridge 6 to in of the meris i/o (I should have mentioned the chain in the original post), then the out of the i/o to the in of the neuro hub. I was under the impression that this would not be problem in getting messages to the neuro hub/SA pedals with this signal path.

I would try going direct to the Neuro Hub just to make sure the Meris box isn't doing something funny

Neuro hub cannot pass PC messages to the connected devices, only cc messages, and if your trying to control them individually, then you’ll need to make sure they all have independent midi channels from each other and the hub. CC103 (recall bypass) and cc104 (recall active) are what you’ll use for recalling presets on each pedal. The value followed by the cc number represents the preset your loading. The previously mentioned video might be helpful with how to do this (I was the one who made it :D )

Can the video be linked again? I am overlooking it somehow
So I am pretty green when it comes to midi and its programming and PC vs CC. My understanding is cc103 and cc104 will target specific presets with the corresponding value and will turn the pedal on and off to the targeted preset. Is this correct?
There is also engage/bypass (cc102) and engage/bypass toggle (cc105). I do want to turn the pedal on and off without a specific preset attached to it, and it sounds like these options would do that. What would be the difference between them?
With my main objective of wanting to scroll through, and the manual showing cc106 (increment) and cc107 (decrement), I interpret these as to the CC messages I'd use to scroll up and down through the presets.
Where does the PC come in that the neuro hub won't do?

I am still stuck on getting my SA pedals to cooperate with midi. I have 4 other non-SA pedals all working without an issue via midi. I have the hub and both SA pedals on independent midi channels but am getting no response when trying to implement any of the aforementioned CC messages for scrolling or engage/bypass. I have tried with the midi controller going straight to the hub, and also with the hub after a meris i/o (with 2 meris pedals in it) with no result either way. I've watched the video numerous times, but haven't found that it has a similar direct application that I can do (at least as seamlessly) as it is shown. Any other ideas as to how to troubleshoot this?
