So 2x instru cables coming out of last delay pedal....
Could go into 2 channels on mixer, via DI line out, but I want one cable to go instru into my amp.

I asked a music store if there's a Y type adapter /switch to be able to do this. The guy was pretty dismissive of the idea with bass, talked of latency issues etc. Fair enough but I dont want /need to be using stereo feed into mixer all the time. I'm just considering how effective it night be with say a sweeping pad, as a song intro, or a 2 channel preset on UW. Some latency wouldn't be disastrous. Enjoy some width on sub sound, for guitars to play over....

Doesn't seem to be much out there on using stereo with bass. Is my thinking justified for this? What do others do to utilse stereo on pedals live? Is there a straightforward way? (I only have 1 amp /cab and dont want to purchase another in a hurry)

Or, would just line out from amp (1 cable) into mixer, with sound out of both R & L pa speakers give the same wide 'stereo' effect?

I started a thread in the Live Sound forum recently asking pretty much the same question and got some helpful answers. I'm putting together a small PA for practice and live stereo fx, using my bass rig for mono stage sound/monitoring. Lots of threads out there on stereo bass rigs, many opinions that "stereo fx are useless in a live setting" etc. but I'm keen to experiment with stereo melodic/rhythmic and ambient/pad sounds.

Ended up using my bigger board. So source audio pedals and the poly beebo are in stereo with the zoom b6 up the middle using an aby box. Programmed some stuff on the Soleman to test out tonight.

I can tell already I’m going to have to get a usb hub and some cables so I can edit everything easier without unplugging.

My sounds are designed with a mono live or stereo recorded signal in mind because I understand the realities of gigging in the real world. At home I generally listen through headphones but also test each sound to work through my small amp and a powered PA speaker. At the gig most often my stage monitor is a powered speaker and there is a mono send using a Radial JDI or I use the house DI if the sound person prefers. I have a short polite conversation informing the sound person about the bass feed and what to expect - in my case lots of effects, that all effects changes are unity gained and to please keep the signal as flat as possible.

IME trying to maintain a stereo image live without a lot of complicated processing that live bands can rarely afford is pointless much less utilize. The stereo effect quickly simply become a sonic mess as the listener is separated from the sweet spot.

Oh you say but what about movies, the answer is complex processing and a complex array of speakers.

But Pink Floyd, Roger Waters do stereo! Yes they have the best engineers and equipment in the business and have been doing it since the seventies and have invested millions of dollars

Thanks for the detail there, appreciated. As I said, it was a pretty naive post and I thought it would be involved process.
I was never expecting to emulate Pink Floyd! But any small steps to widen synth pad type sounds are of interest.....

Yeah, thats essentially it. Stereo DI to 2 channels of mixer and some sort of splitter to send mono to bass amp.

It really depends on the gig, the room and the PA / mixing desk. But yes I agree, it's mostly useful for recording & home studio stuff.

Oh OK, makes sense. But my synth pedal is part of bass pedal board and only used occasionally. Its not like I've got a huge array of synth devices.

I think I was obsessing about stereo, when in reality, if the sound is coming out of both sides if pa, then that's good enough.

So, I've got the 2 instru cables out of the pedalboard. Is there a DI box that will then allow a direct instru feed back to amp - some sort of splitter?? (obviously dont need line out to amp)

I tried searching this thread for my question and I found an answer, but it doesn't seem to agree with what I'm hearing. So, is it possible to use the "Clean (No Distortion)" engine to use the Aftershock's EQ only? When I select that engine and then crank the EQ knobs, I don't hear any difference in tone. The noise and filter gates work, but I don't think the EQ is doing anything. What am I missing?

Ultra Wave Bass

Soleman/NeuroHub

The only wacky :poop: is running the SUB send from the Meat Box to Ch#2 of the Ultra Wave Bass and then to a DI XLR output for FOH only. NOT in the speaker cab.

The rest is mono ending in a sfx Micro Thumpinator and then to my amp.

The sa gear i’ve got has solved oh so many problems in my setup. I’ve always tried to make it as compact as possible while still being easy to operate on stage. Eq2 connects synth and drum machine and through the h9 when needed and inte fx return of the stomp. UW in the 2nd fx loop of stomp, and is my preamp/distortion. Hx stomp acting as my pedalboard for various effects such as pitch, delay, modulation. I tried doing this just using the hx but it expanded things to two hx stomp and didn’t sound quite as i wanted. This just works!
