Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

Yup third sentence.. "Already tried a factory reset and it's still happening...." :D - thank you for the suggestion though!

I contacted tech support a couple of days ago, my first thought was doing the reset and he agreed. No luck with that though.. :eyebrow:

That's why I posted the issue here, in case it happened to someone else and they maybe had a different suggestion/solution.

I'll try the reset again anyway.. can't hurt :)
I’d also try forcibly reflashing the firmware. Might be best to contact source audio support via email as they’ll talk you through stuff.

I've been skimming through the thread for a while now and may have missed it, but can you burn or control presets for individual pedals through the hub or do they still have to be hooked up via USB to edit via the neuro pc app? As it stands now, I have each individual pedal hooked up through to my pc with a USB cable and with six pedals, the hub and the soleman, I have created one hell of a rat nest.

You can "burn" a preset to a pedal from your own library or community presets, but you can't access or save any presets that are saved to the pedal by connecting through the Neuro Hub. So the major difficulty with the current setup when just connecting to the Neuro Hub is that you can't copy settings for a single pedal directly from one scene and paste it to another easily. I think the process for doing that is removing the pedal from a scene, switching to the scene you want to copy from, then switch back to the target scene and adding the pedal again (which will be at the current settings).

Yup, had to do that with my first Atlas because of a weird glitch. The SA support rocks!

Working through this with them now. Tried bootloader and now other issues are popping up, lol.. Support is on it, hopefully I can get a resolution soon.

So, would I be correct in understanding that:

(a) NeuroHub USB access will allow scene access and correlation for the Soleman.

(b) It is the path of least resistance to make Neuro App changes to each pedal directly with USB.

(c) Creating new scenes and storing those on the NeuroHub for Soleman access or on your Neuro Editor library if exceeding device storage capacity that I believe is 128 scenes.

Sorry Gus, it is my fault if support has been slow. Picked up COVID this past weekend and haven't been able to do much of that, been recovering most of the week. So Dave has had the brunt of it.

No worries at all Niko, I hope you get better soon! Dave sent me the steps for resetting the firmware this morning, I just finished doing that. It appears that things are working again! I updated Dave as well.

Its still a little early to slam my neighbors with crushing riffs- I'll know for sure in a few hours. The "other" issues were just due to my ancient laptop, lol.

Thank you again SA!

So how well does the Soleman work with 3rd party midi pedals? Like, will it recall a scene that includes non-SA pedals as well?
Yes, It works really well. It's got various methods of applying macros which control Any Midi command (device). You can assign Macros to a Scene or a button push which is really powerful.
I would have bought one myself, but my eyes were caught in the bright headlights of Matrix looping at the time and I went for a Boss ES-5. Bizarrely, I now don't use the matrix looper on my ES-5...maybe the Soleman would have been a better fit!

maybe a daft question...

but the mixer block with the mix in them, say voice 1, voice 2, etc - how do you edit them? or can't you. Just got my C4 and trying to learn the editor.
I'm on Mac OSX

Those are indicators of mixer assignments, levels and signal routing from the 4 voice modules. Those changes are controlled in each of the 4 voice modules in the drop down menus.

Don’t know how many of you know or use LOOPY PRO app on iPad , but it’s an amazing interface.
One of the things I love about it is the midi controls that you can design as you wish

I created a page of controls for my C4 and another for the aftershock !!! Love it

One thing I discovered is on the C4 , the LFO “restart on envelope trigger” has a little bug.

it work fine on the neuro desktop
But when CC with a value of 127 is sent from a midi controller, it will not turn on the “trigger” , it will show on the neuro desktop that it was clicked , but it will not change on the pedal.
However if it’s already ON and a CC with value 0 is sent , it will turn off ‍♂️

Just for fun - this is how it looks on my iPad

There are still quite a few C4 MIDI map bugs to be fixed. I found them during some systematic testing I did quite some time ago and I don’t think Jesse has had time to get to them.

Have you tried other values other than 0 and 127? Sometimes depending on the control, it’s not split between 0-63 and 64 to 127.
