Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

Oh OK, so my SA exp pedal would have to Midi controlled, with another seperate device (as well as the adaptor) ?
What are you planning to use the MIDI adaptor for? Assuming it is there to allow the use of a MIDI controller, most modern MIDI controllers on the market that I know of allow connection of a normal passive expression pedal that can be assigned to sweep a CC parameter (or multiple at once) on connected MIDI devices

I like this product but what does it provide over the old usb interface?
The USB interface gives midi support to midi controllers with USB host support. Not many do that. With this new device, one use anything. Our Hub did that too, but it's large, more $$, and intended for multiple SA pedals.

Great idea!! So this is a great solution for guys that have like a C4 but wanna run it into a Morningstar or the like but need all extra ports the HUB does??

also this adapter allows midi access to the onboard presets of the older, six preset pedals as well, something neither the usb host method, or the hub could do. Also not requiring an external power source is a plus.

that’s actually a huge plus in my book. I had a hub for a time. And adding to my existing setup, at that time, was such a hassle!! Haha trying to place and power the hub sucked. Again, at that time. My board was full and all my power was pretty much sucked up. I found a way. But yeah, if this newer unit eliminates some of that stuff, hell yeah. Way to go SA team!

So, as I have my main board(with 2x hx stomp) all dialed in and will hopefully be like that for next year…
I have been playing around in trying to use my ultrawave as a preamp and drive, but in a slightly different way than before.
I use it in stereo in/out. Bass into ch1(clean and compressed), out into
the loopswitcher and out into mxr preamp(mostly for level control.
Ch2(drive/fuzz) of the uw then goes into one of the loops and can be switched on/off.
I then switch presets and morph between settings with the mc6.
The two h9’s are before and after ch2 of the uw.
Sounds pretty good so far.

Are you thinking of upgrading to the H90 and if yes what inaccurate label will it receive? :)

And the fact that a pair of H9’s does 99.5% of what the h90 does. A pair of H9’s s/h are going for about half the price of a h90 here in the uk.
As I eagerly await my H90, I know this has been discussed before, but I have to comment --- I know you're speaking in hyperbole but 10 new algorithms plus the additional routing hardly seems like 0.5% to me! Yes, for many people 2x H9s is a fine substitution but I'm pretty sure the H90 is way more than just two H9s...

I hope so too....when you get yours....you need to convince us h9 luddites! Dazzle us with soundclouds and videos! Move our wallets!

However, my next priority is a Source Audio Ventris.
Anyone want to swap out a pristine Collider for a Ventris?

the one big improvement for me in the h90, is how much easier it seems to edit on the pedal. I like how easy it is to edit the h9 on my iPhone, but hate to have to do so.

Does anyone have any idea when there will be stock / supply of the Ventris again? Here in the UK, even the used supply has dried up.
We are working on our first batch in over a year. Finally scored a key missing component. Hope to have these finished within 2 weeks. One more week to get to the UK?

Speaking of priorities and strategy....

I have had the Source Audio C4 for a couple of weeks and a Disaster Area Designs DMC.micro PRO is arriving later today. I'm using the app on my tablet pc and have been downloading, tweaking and loading it up with presets-a-plenty - it's a blast!

What might be smart to add to the setup to maximize the C4 and complement it? I like the SA ecosystem that offers the community downloads/uploads, PC editor, etc!

Expression Pedal?
Other SA pedals?
